Food was as tasteful as expected. Visit was very chaotic. I usually call ahead for lunch; but my husband and I had an appointment nearby. The restaurant was not full so I decided to order take-out and wait. It was after 12:30pm. It took over 20 minutes. We both had to had this to the time to already time away from lunch. I am used to pretty much the same type service at Hwy 55. Today, I did not get greeted upon entering(no problem). As I stood in front of the register the two waitresses passed me by, but the dark hair and said she would be ba k to take my order....didn't happen. After, I had to raise my voice to gain attention then the other waitress took my order. As, I waited I discovered that the female door dash driver was already there waiting for a pick up. There was another employee, I am guessing mgmt in the back screaming. She finally came back out and stated they forgot the to come back to the phone to take the order. This is why the three times I called prior the phone line was busy. The two young men cooking were trying to pull it together. It appeared that one was training the other. NO problem with them. This is when patience comes in. My problem was with the mgr she did not apologize or anything. I recall the unpleasant grimace upon her face as she handed me my food. It was so unpleasant that I would not even go to my Friday Hwy 55 meal at the other restaurant. THEY NEED SOME STRUCTURE! Worst Hwy 55 experience ever. Read moreOn March 21 I ordered 2 Americana meals, one with onion rings,and one with french fries. Both with milk shakes. While waiting on my order to cook, the person doing the cooking QUIT with the a grill full of food cooking. The cashier refused to refund anyone their money. When I got my order home, EVERYTHING was burned up. We couldn't eat it. I left 3 messages with the owner before I received a return call. He explained the circumstances and I was cool with that. He explained that he couldn't refund me the $25 I had spent , but he would replace the meal. Today I came for the replacement meals. THEY WERE DISGUSTING!!!! The burgers were not done. The bread was soggy, the french fries and onion rings had no taste, the lemonade and orangeade were tasteless!!! We didn't even attempt to eat that mess. I used to go to HWY 55 in Wilson NC and Snowhill NC and LOVED IT. On top of the meal being totally disgusting, the cook handled our food without gloves, and the cashier had a extreme attitude, possibly because I interrupted her showing the cook stuff on her cell phone. The cashier answered all requests with hostility and the manager literally left me mid sentence to answer a call on her cellphone.
When she completed the call she remained across the room from me and even made eye contact but did not return to finish our conversation.
I called and attempted to discuss a refund while returning to work only for the cashier to set the phone on the counter and not return to it by the time I made it back to work. I could hear people talking and walking around but was not helped in the ten-twelve minutes I was on "hold"
I just want the money back that I paid for the milkshakes they did not have.
And honestly I'd get it if I had some attitude or something but I was nothing but polite, patient, and calm. I was respectful to them throughout the entire event so I'm unsure why it had to be such a difficult situation.
I have the receipt number and everything if anyone knows how I can get a refund for...
