Okay yāall⦠this was my 2nd/3rd time ever doing an escape room and I had sooooo much fun! (I say 3rd bc we HAD to come back the next morning to do another because it was so much fun!). Our first room we did was the Lizzie Borden room and let me tell yāall, it was every true crime fanaticās dream escape room!! My best friend and I finished with almost 20 minutes left of the game and for it being our second time ever doing an escape room we were impressed with ourselves! (It also probably helped that we both love true crime so the puzzles and riddles made so much sense to us). Mark was the owner and our Game Master and he is amazing! Him and his wife own the business and his wife is a current PhD student in Psychology so she studied puzzle patterns and the psychology behind that which makes these rooms 1937382x better! She wrote everything for the Lizzie Borden room herself which was really cool too! Definitely check this place out to get a break from a traditional escape room concept. We also came back to do the VooDoo room the next morning because it was said to be one of the hardest rooms and we won with about 3 minutes. It definitely was harder for sure but we still won! It was super fun but the Lizzie Borden room was probably my favorite out of the 2 only because I love true crime! Iām so sad I live out of town but when I come back up Iām definitely going here again to try out the rest of the rooms! Thank you again Mark for such an amazing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat an amazing experience we had! There were 4 of us and we chose the Lizzie Borden room to "be trapped in." Without giving too much away, the room was decorated in authentic period furniture and accessories. The clues were challenging, clever and very well written. You will have to read them very carefully, because in some cases, they can be interpreted different ways. We were fortunate to have a team that had diverse skills, so we eventually figured them out. (sometimes with the help of the "voice on the screen" to guide us.) There are a few scary moments, and I found myself startled (well, actually screaming) once or twice, but that added to the fun. We were successful in solving the mystery of Lizzie Borden and escaped the room with 6 seconds left on the timer. We had so much fun with this escape room. We will be talking about our experience for a very long time - but will be sure not to give away any secrets. If you enjoy solving mysteries, working as a team, and being challenged, you really need to check out Trapped in the Upstate. Mark, our host, was so helpful and gave us some very important advice before we began the game. Listen carefully to what he tells you. We will definitely be back again to try a different room - and we will be sharing our experience with all of our friends and family. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a wonderful team-building event and it was so well put-together! I went with 6 work colleagues after meetings in Spartanburg that day. Not only did Bonnie open a room for us on a Tuesday when they are normally closed, but she talked with me ahead of time on what would be be the best experience for our team. Upon arrival, the gamemaster, who's name I can't remember but also did a wonderful job, explained everything well and took us to our room- the Asylum. This was my first escape room and I had a blast solving the puzzles and riddles with the team- and we escaped! Others who had done escape rooms in the past said this was by far the best. The room was spooky with blood smears and some scary sounds, so probably best for 10-12 and up, but we saw as we walked through they definitely had rooms more geared for kids (Saving Santa, Illusionist). While I did this with co-workers, I would definitely recommend this place for a family or friend even...
