This is a nice medical imaging office. They seem to run like a well-oiled machine. The staff seem kind, knowledgeable, and human. (Yes, I heard a few personal conversations, but nothing was inappropriate.) Scheduling was quick, directions were clear, and expectations of timing were given! The office itself is clean and organized, and there is enough parking to remove that concern (at least the days I was there). More detailed review: ADMINISTRATION: My referring doctor’s office said I would receive a call from the imaging office to set an appointment, and basically as soon as I left that office, Griffin Imaging was ringing my cell! I figured I would have to chase them down as I have with so many medical practices, but nope! The woman on the line quickly set an appointment and let me know I’d need to pick up 2 bottles of solution before my appointment that I would need to ingest for my CT scan. Luckily, we weren’t too far from Griffin that we turned around to pickup that day. (This is not a reflection of the Imaging office, but the referring doctors should let patients know that they’ll need to pick something up before their appointment. Since we are not local, if we had left Griffin, it could have been a real headache to return twice - once to pickup the bottles of solution and once for my imaging.) The young woman at the front desk was clear with the instructions and also handed me a little information sheet (see picture) with typed instructions that she ALSO wrote down a “TL; DR” in the corner. I guess they’ve had a lot of people screw this up, but the instructions are not confusing. (The bottles also had times written on them for even more clarity.) Day of my appointment, the front desk woman was nice. (Different woman than when I picked up.) Payment easy with HSA card and it was convenient that they left the amount due on a message when they called. WEIRD THING: The only weird thing is when they called to confirm my appointment, they left a voicemail that said to *keep* or cancel the appointment to call back. To keep? Hm. Not heard that one before. I did call back, but it was 30 minutes before they closed and no one answered. I just crossed my fingers and hoped my appointment would still exist without verbal confirmation. IMAGING PROCESS: I was called back pretty close to my appointment time - forgot to check exactly. Danny, one of the CT techs who helped get me set up, was very kind. I tried to steer him to my right arm for the IV (my veins are popping on the right!), but he seemed to want to try the left. After a little while of trying to find a willing vein, he switched to the other side. He did a good job with the needle (not a fan of needles - but that would be a particular type of person who is…), and it really was just a little pinch. He explained the IV a bit, and then a second tech, Mackenzie popped in to get the IV contrast set up. She was very sweet and soft spoken. We joked about CT scans and MRIs on TV shows vs real life, and she reiterated about the IV solution and how it would likely make me feel. She also confirmed I’d not had imaging done before and after discussing my symptoms said she hoped this could help figure out what was wrong. (Very sweet.) Between the imaging sessions - there’s a 3-4 minute wait between them for whatever reason, I got nauseous, and Danny was helpful. He opened an alcohol wipe, so the smell could distract from that feeling or something. Anyway - it helped. Afterwards, he let me know my doctors would have my images within a day or two! (We shall see, but that’s pretty good turnaround time.) Very quick - appt at 10:15, out by 10:35am! TIP: Come with your paperwork filled out, ID and insurance cards ready to go. You’ll likely know what you owe at time of service thanks to the day before phone call. Have HSA or CC ready! OFFICE AND PARKING: Good sized parking lot. Easy to access drop off driveway if needed. The office is clean. A little old school in decor, but they did have Matlock playing on the waiting room TV, so holla!!

My experience with Griffin Imaging was far from acceptable or pleasant. My initial contact resulted in being told that the first available appointment would be two weeks out - though my physician said he wrote the order with an "As Soon As Possible" request. Trying to voice any concern to folks in this office is met with either impatience...they will tell you quickly how busy they are and interrupting the patient seems to be the order of the day. Mixed signals are also sent. I was told at around 3:00pm on Friday afternoon, for example, that I would receive a call back "within a few minutes" to verify an appointment for Saturday morning. I did not get a call until 2 hours later at 4:58 pm on Friday before the MRI was to be performed the next day at 8:00 am. The employee made sure to tell me to bring $500.00 with me. I asked whether they had spoken with my insurance company, and the response was "yes, $500.00 is your part of the bill for services...but, she also added she "did not know much about insurance." If the $500.00 fee is accurate, I suppose that would be fine; however, calling me on Friday afternoon at 4:58 pm before an 8:00 am Saturday morning procedure does not allow sufficient time for me to check with my insurance company to verify that $500.00 is, in fact, my part of the bill. I tried to voice that concern to several employees at Griffin Imaging, and the response I got seemed, to me, to be directed at excusing behavior rather that addressing concerns. I asked to speak with the Medical Director of Griffin Imaging, and I was told that "he does not speak with patients" and further, that "he is not on site at the Griffin facility but, rather, is located in Columbus, GA." I asked if there was a regional manager I could speak with, and I was told that there were no district or regional managers. After asking who owned the Griffin facility so I could speak with them, I was told the Cypress Partners located in Juniper, Florida owned the facility; however, I was given no names with whom to speak. It seems odd to me that there is, apparently, no physician on duty at the facility. Common sense would seem to dictate that a licensed medical doctor would be on site during hours of operation in the case of some accident of emergency. All in all, there were just too many questions in my mind about the operation of this facility and their willingness to listen and address reasonable concerns in a professional, timely manner. I opted to have my MRI...

Recently had a MRI 120 miles round trip from my home area, because I was told no area facility could accommodate a person of my size and sent to get MRI done at a hospital affiliated with my local family, I didn't have confidence in the results, A nurse in my local Doctor's office quietly said contact Griffin Imaging and Griffin Open MRI, to my shock and extreme pleasure, only 7 miles from my home and they could accommodate me, My Doctor sent over another order and I was contacted within days, appointment scheduled, upon arrival I was in the MRI machine within 20 minutes and this was during the 2024 Holiday Season. And just as I believed the original MRI was NOWHERE in depth and detail as Griffin Imaging and Griffin Open MRI across the street, report was more intensive in detail of my back and shoulder injuries, during the MRI Scan the Technician couldn't have been kinder and more professional.

On Friday April 25, 2025 I had to go in for a lower lumbar spine x-ray, prior to my appointment I was called to schedule the quickest appointment, was advised I could go to the website and print my paperwork, and I did (but walked out and forgot it 😆) Not a problem they gave me the paperwork and I was barely done before being called back, they lady was so extremely kind, asked how I got hurt, I said I had a MRI in 11/2024, she said that too with lumbar X-rays would be examined in by the Radiologist. I have 100% faith in how the test will be reviewed. In April 2025 I had a severe fall, a local hospital x-rayed my left foot at Outpatient Radiology, I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THE STAFF OR RESULTS OF THE X-RAYS.

I will be asking my Physician to send me to Griffin Imaging for X-rays as I definitely feel as if my foot is broken, Griffin Imaging will get to the bottom of the extent of what going on if something is broken..

If you're in the area of Griffin Imaging and Griffin Open MRI, There the...
