Cenvar Roofing - Harrisonburg — Local services in Grottoes

My 3-story house was built in 1910. I think the tin roof that was on it was original. 15 years ago, I had it patched and painted. But my half steps and no steps were insufficient. From TV ads I first contacted Cenvar about replacing. Tyler was very good in responding to me and then estimating a cost and sharing the thoroughness of Cenvar. All good but I was shocked by the cost. I said thanks but no thanks. But then I got other quotes and well the Cenvar price was $8,000 less. Hey Tyler, you still there? price unchanged? The time scheduled for the work was pretty quick 3 weeks. Zack was the job lead and was very attentive. My roof is a challenge: 5 dormers, 5 chimneys, on 4 rising triangles. I did not replace the tin. (I'm 77 so don't need a 40-year solution) The crew arrived a little before 7, had a stop for lunch, then worked a little past 7 pm. in that time they had removed the tin, cut and nailed down the wood, and completely shingled the roof. The next day they did the detail work on dormers, chimneys, and edging. They cleaned up and left by 5. The entire process was stress free though when i sought to debit the payment i was advised there was a 3% fee. So i am planning to drive to Troy. But my evaluation of the roofing...

I would highly recommend this company. I had seven estimates to replace my roof and gutters. Cenvar was over $1000 less on the roof and $900 on the gutters. Also, the closest warranty was 1/3 less time on workmanship and 1/2 less on the shingles themselves. When I called for the estimate, it was done very quickly and on my schedule. Joe was knowledgeable and understood my concerns and requests. I was notified by Ben days ahead of time and we discussed the parking concerns on my street, and he said don't worry about anything. The workers were on time and worked diligently until the task was complete. No cursing on the roof all day and they actually communicated, avoiding confusion. Upon completion, the crew worked together to clean up and stayed as a team through this task. I have 36-inch magnets of my own and went over my yard and driveway 4 times. So far, I found 3 nails up against the fence posing no danger to tires or feet. I have recommended them many times and will continue to do so. We are extremely pleased with everything about our new roof from Cenvar – great communication from scheduling the estimate through project completion from everyone involved! Received the quote by email the same day as the site visit. Followup questions were responded to promptly. The installation was scheduled within the estimated calendar window. Materials arrived two days before the install. The installation crew completed the tear off and installation in one day on a somewhat complex roof, and did a great job protecting the job site with tarps and plywood. A company safety officer checked on the crew during the day. We were kept informed about progress during the day by our project coordinator and he followed up with a visit a couple of days later to make sure we were happy with the work.
