KinderCare of Guilford……oh where do I start? Was it the promise of daily updates of potty usage and food eaten by my child that drew us in? Was it the kind and professional staff we met? Or was it the convenience of closeness to both mine and my daughters mothers home? It was all of that and throughout it all that was never delivered aside from the geographical location. The teaching staff? Very unprofessional. If I wanted my kid to be taught abc’s by someone in baggy clothes drinking Dunkin….I’d have hired a baby sitter. Or the fact that the second a payment wasn’t deposited at the crack of dawn on payment day, there was a phone call an email followed by another phone call. All those daily updates and pictures through the app dwindled off as the first couple weeks faded into the distance. To the point we were asking our toddler “did you even eat today?” The strict “only the people on the list can enter the classroom and pick up your child rule….yea that didn’t exist I sent multiple relatives to pick up my daughter. After two years it had grown old the cost, the unprofessionalism, the constant badgering from the manager Maria. As summer break drew closer for the summer before my daughter went to kindergarten her mother and I decided maybe hanging out with the grandparents wasn’t such a bad idea. Save money and have some fun. Only to be completely forgotten when formal graduation came around and getting texts from other parents “so sorry you couldn’t make it” when we were never invited. Don’t get me wrong my daughter had fun and met many friends. But I’d stay away from this center as it just seems the only thing that matters is the cash not the kids. I was even threatened if my half didn’t come through by midnight on Friday my daughter wouldn’t be allowed to attend anymore. As I begged just give me till pay day. I miss before Maria zero issues soon as miss Maria took over ….it all went down hill. I do feel the teaching staff sincerely cared about my daughter, and they did a great job preparing her for kindergarten. But all the negatives outweigh the positives. Attend at...
Read moreGuilford Kindercare is great and we'd highly recommend! Both of our kids have attended since 16 weeks old. The core staff is great and has low turnover, especially the infant room. You feel like your kids are being taken care of by people who feel like family and truly appreciate your kids as individuals, which is such a comfort.
The staff goes out of their way to make you feel part of the Kindercare community by hosting fun events for kids and their grown-ups, such as an annual Trunk-or-Treat, Winter holiday party, parent reading days, and various spirit days throughout the year.
In addition to having lots of fun, my kids always seem to learn a lot from the monthly themes and are excited to tell me about the fun stories, projects, or activities they participated in that day (which I usually have already seen from the frequent pictures and updates on the Kindercare app).
Above all, we've been so appreciative of how the leadership and teachers have worked closely with us and other supports to support the individualized needs of our kiddos. They have always been open to trying out different strategies to support our kiddo and family. We are so grateful for the Kindercare staff and the role they've played on our parenting journey! We'd...
Read moreWe started sending our daughter Naomi to Guilford Kindercare when she was just 4 months old and have been pleased with the experience. The teachers we've met, including Ms. Lindsey and Ms.Emilia from the preschool class, are wonderful. Every morning when it's tough for our daughter to say goodbye to us, they are there to comfort and cheer her up, making her smile. The daily updates and photos of her activities on the school's app are a delight to see, and it's reassuring to see her happy and engaged. The school maintains a structured routine, like scheduled naps, which we believe instills good habits. We also appreciate the ample outdoor play during the warm seasons, knowing how crucial it is for child development.
We fondly remember Ms. Janice from the infant class, who was always caring and sincere, and the friendly Ms. Jeanelle and Cindy from the toddler class. Jeanelle's genuine passion for children and education shines through. Hearing our daughter occasionally say "I like school" when we pick her up is always a wonderful surprise! Additionally, the director is very responsive and timely in communicating, which greatly adds to our...
