Family Dollar — Local services in Gunnison

The guy who works there was complaining about how much work he had to do. He was complaining about the other employees. When I mentioned that every time I went there, the employees were outside smoking, he became upset and started yelling at me that they had every right to smoke outside.

Then, he actually turned around and started telling another customer what a b** I was. When I started to check out, he came up to the checkout stand, stood behind the cashier and very threateningly glared at me. He was obviously trying to intimidate me.

This store used to be wonderful when Bonnie was manager, however, it's gone so far downhill that most of the time I go to a different Family Dollar.

The previous time I went in, when I started to check out, the cashier was on the phone with a personal call, obviously arguing with her husband/boyfriend/whatever. She never put the phone down, but kept talking the entire time and, when the total came, she merely pointed at the price instead of even saying anything.

I'm not sure if these stores are independently or corporate owned, however, the employees here need to be replaced because they're so rude. The store is also very messy with boxes in the middle of the aisles and so narrow that often I have to back out of an aisle and go down a different one to even get to the products that I'm trying to find. All in all, a very unpleasant experience. AND that guy needs to be told that he shouldn't be staring down and bullying customers. He needs to be replaced immediately....

Usually has what's needed however finding it may be a challenge. Store is dirty, unorganized & stuff thrown wherever. And the restrooms...🤢don't even get me started on those. Employees are either helping customers @ the register, standing around talking w/ eachother, talking on their phones or out front smoking. When I'm in there trying to find what I need I don't want to hear about how bad the employees lives are, who is sleeping w/ who or why the government cut them off all their benefits & especially in their choice expletives they use...everyone has stressful stuff going on however very few of us bring it into our work places & talk loud enough about it so our customers etc can hear it. Anyway, it would just be nice to be able to run in quickly, find what u need, pay for it & leave in a timely manner. I've been to several Family Dollar stores & not all of them are as terrible as the Gunnison Ut & Salina...

If I could give negative stars I’d give a negative a million. Don't shop there saw an employee name Jake assault a customer. They are crazy and some girl named Michelle is on her phone 24/7 even when helping customers. Manager apparently has favorites because she hires drunks will report to better business for terrible customer service considering that most the employees ignore customers to go out to smoke. Store is a mess and completely disgusting. They never clean and 99% of food is expired in a day. Be careful and check your dates. Be careful if you are also a woman I’ve heard that guy say some pretty gross stuff about women on the phone and at work, even in the parking lot. Some store just needs to be shut down. This place is the most disrespectful and dangerous...
