We absolutely LOVE the Market. Very friendly staff, and fun to see our friends at the various departments. VERY much a family feel, and they remember your name and your family, which is almost unheard of in todays world. Great selection of any need you may have, and if they by chance do not have it, they can get it ordered in for you no problem! Similar to a Macey's, but BETTER. I love this place, and as I try to figure out "why" I'll mention the following. We come into town to get some fresh produce, and they have the best selection around. They have sourced local, everything smells and looks great, and very CLEAN. Further, they have a great selection of dairy/meats, and even source a variety of fabrics for your next quilt! (Don't have time to make one, no problems, they have staff on hand that make them there at the store, and you can buy a hand-made one for $149 for a king size bed). I love the staff they employ, and how they are helpful, but don't linger and hover over every move you make. They simply help you to find what you need, and let you go for it. Easy check out, and fun to see all your neighbors making a smart choice...
Read moreThis store has a habitual problem with the scanned price of an item at the cash register not matching the price in front of the item on the shelf .The error is always in favor of the store. In a number of cases the item will be listed as being on sale as per the sign on the shelf but the old higher price will come up when the item is scanned. I have gotten to the point where I write down the price of everything I buy to double check it at the register. Today I bought 4 items and I had price discrepancies on 2 of them at the register. The cashier tried to give me a hard time on this but I insisted on getting the price shown on the shelf. I don't know whether this problem is due to poor management or people just not being conscientious enough to do their jobs properly. I have gotten to the point where I try to do most of my shopping at Walmart in Ephraim even though it is over a 20 mi trip each way. I only shop at Gunnison Market as a...
Read moreRude weekend manager, produce that is past its prime. Unfortunately, it's the only grocery store within 15 miles of where I live otherwise I'd stay away. I recently witnessed the weekend manager walk past two checkers, raise his voice, and loudly tell them to clean up their register. The only thing on one of the registers was a bottle of water (it was 100+ outside.) I asked the cashier if he's always this way and she said "Worse." You simply don't talk to people like he spoke to them. Additionally, the produce is horrible. I saw artichokes there today, wilted and well past their prime "generously" (not) priced at 2 for $4. All in all a grocery store that takes advantage of the fact that it's the only...
