I was looking for a Maverick Lariat Hybrid, which seem to be in short supply. I found one 2025 in my home state of Arizona that had the options I preferred. It was about 164 miles away, one way. I try to do Internet purchases because I greatly dislike high pressure in-person sales tactics. The in-state dealer’s Internet department insisted I drive the 5 hour round trip before they would negotiate a price – that’s not how Internet sales is supposed to work. That was a deal breaker.

Then I started looking at low mileage used Mavericks. I found one that looked suitable, but I had to pay to have it shipped, sight unseen. About 2 weeks later it was still in transit. So I gave up and searched inventory on Ford’s website.

I stumbled on a new 2024 Maverick Lariat at Freedom Ford in Gunnison, Utah. Their Internet sales person, Shaney, reached out the next day. I responded with my requirements. With just a few eMails and Texts, we reached a deal - a great deal, I might add! I only had to make one short phone call to pay a deposit. There was absolutely no hassle and no pressure!

Within a day, the paperwork was completed and financing with a very good rate was arranged. I booked a flight to Utah and Shaney offered to have someone pick me up at the Provo Airport, which is the airport nearest to Gunnison. That was very gracious, as Provo is more than an hour drive from Gunnison.

In less than 30 minutes from arrival at the dealership, I had possession of my new truck and was on my way home. The trip home was about 700 mostly highway miles with an average of 39.5 MPG. I couldn’t be happier with the truck.

Even with travel expenses and the shipping fee for the used truck I didn’t buy, I saved a lot of money. I highly recommend Freedom Ford in Gunnison, Utah, and Shaney, the Internet sales person. I will definitely be a customer again.

Well worth the drive! I live over an hour away from Freedom Ford with at least 6 dealers closer, but Freedom Ford was referred to me as a great dealer who doesn’t play games. I ordered my Ford Super Duty during COVID which turned out to be the worst possible time for the Ford factory as my truck took a really long time to build. However, Freedom Ford was AMAZING during the long process. They let me know of developments and expressed their empathy at the time for delays that were not even in their control. Most importantly, unlike other dealers who were insisting on “Market Adjustments” over MSRP for certain trims, Freedom Ford kept their integrity throughout that tough time for everyone and they showed what home town values are truly all about by not changing what we all originally agreed. Many dealers were saying they just couldn’t honor original pricing and were marking up vehicles after the fact, but not Freedom Ford with me. Best of all there were no add-ons like paint protection, VIN etching or other baloney items that some dealers try to make required. The deal I made when I ordered the truck was the deal I got with no fuss no muss, and the buying experience was really great! They were more concerned about creating a lifelong customer than maximizing their profit on a single vehicle - and they are succeeding! Imagine being on the road, in the middle of nowhere-Utah (Gunnison) with a 2018 f350 and a horse in a horse trailer (mom and daughter)and finding out u have a fuel leak under the engine…: and driving to a Ford dealership to be told it’s an easy 1 hour fix, and then being turned away. No “sorry we can’t help you” Just a suggestion to make an appointment 2 weeks later for help! (All while I saw 3 mechanics inside shooting the breeze when I parked my truck)

I guess I’m not used to shops, especially dealerships, to bring so callous. I wasn’t expecting the red carpet to be rolled out for me, it was going to be a simple fix and I could get on our way with live animals in the trailer being 3 hours from home.

I would NEVER EVER recommend anyone step foot into this dealership. They will only help you if u want to buy a vehicle from them. And turn up their nose if you are in an emergency.

Me being From a family of mechanics, who help people out, it was a disgrace to have such an awful experience there in a desperate situation.
