I bought an item off Ebay shortly after moving and filled out the mail forwarding form so i could still receive my mail while I was changing addresses on all my accounts, this USPS office receives a package from Ebay and then throws it away instead of forwarding it to my new address. I called them about it and they opened up a case. After review, they said it was the sender's fault because they didn't pay the extra postage to forward the mail.
How was the ebay seller supposed to know that? How was I supposed to know that? They couldn't deliver to my old address and did not offer to let me go pick it up myself. I literally paid a fee so that I could have my mail forwarded. So I guess the moral of the story is don't bother to pay the fee to have mail forwarded because they will just throw it away and blame the seller for not paying for something they didn't know about.
This is absolutely embarrassing and the fact the USPS has absolutely no accountability and is playing the blame game shows their true colors. I know USPS is the cheapest but if you have something that really needs to be shipped out and you don't want it thrown away use a company not controlled by the government.
I am only giving this office 2 stars because the lady that delivers the mail to my house is very nice and has always gone out of her way to...
Read moreThey closed early on a Saturday and wouldn't take my packages that were ready to go. She checked the drop box and knew I was standing there but my packages wouldn't fit after i told her that she ignored me. I even drove around to the back where all they had to do was put the packages in the van but they couldn't even do that. I ended up having to drive 30 min out of my way just to get my packages out today. It was extremely important for them to go out today. If you would have just taken the packages to begin with you wouldn't of felt the need to wait 10 min just to hide from me while I was waiting for you to come out to the van. Treat people how you would like...
Read moreI stopped in a few minutes to closing time today at the Gurley office. Asked for advice on how to label and mail something first class vs doing it priority. The clerk told me I had 7 minutes to figure it out myself. When i asked to please borrow a marker (next to her register) to prepare the label the clerk told me i “should have come prepared.” I was shell shocked. I’m a federal employee also and was embarrassed by her customer service. NOT a good look for the Gurley US Post Office. Couldn’t even lend me a marker. To figure...
