âĄď¸ First Impression: I visited Desineeds Meat and Grocery at 3900 Washington St Ste J, Gurnee, IL 60031, looking for some Indian sweets, and it turned out to be a charming little spot with a welcoming feel.
âĄď¸ What I Bought: I picked up two sweet boxesâKaju Katli and Kaju Rollsâcosting around $19 after taxes, a perfect treat for myself.
âĄď¸ Quality & Value: The sweets looked and tasted fresh and high-quality, with the Kaju Katli and Kaju Rolls melting in my mouth. At $19, it felt like a fair deal for the craftsmanship, though a bit pricey for the quantity. Still, the taste made it worth it.
âĄď¸ Service & Environment: Itâs a nice store, though not as big as Patel Brothers, but I found all the Indian groceries I needed. It wasnât crowded, which made browsing easy, and the place was neat and hygienic. The good parking space outside was a bonus, adding to the convenience.
âĄď¸ Final Thoughts: Desineeds Meat and Grocery in Gurnee is a great little spot for Indian sweets like Kaju Katli and Kaju Rolls, with a clean environment and ample parking. Itâs not as expansive as some bigger stores, but the variety and quality keep me coming back!

Read moreNext to Desi Dhaaba is the grocery and Indian/Pakistani supplies store with a surprising variety of items in such a limited space. Most anything you need to create a taste of home country is here. If you can't find it, ask and they'll get it for you. Spices, pickles, prepared food, variety of teas, snacks, utensils, dry goods...the list continues. Some people seem to think that their prices are a bit higher than the competition, however, I found the prices to be reasonable. Besides, there isn't much competition in the area anyway. There are only three or four other similar stores within five miles of it and they may be slightly less in a few items but not across the board. If you have Desi needs, this place will fit the bill.
