RUNNNN, don't walk, and book Mina!!!! My hair was an absolute DISASTER ZONE after a horrific haircut at a different salon, and after just ~45 minutes I left Elie Tanous Salon feeling so much happier and more confident. Mina is beyond kind, has a wonderful sense of humor, and was so damn knowledgeable about my hair type and what was wrong with my previous cut. She explained exactly what she needed to do to set me right. Her skill and experience let her salvage way more length than I thought possible; I was resigning myself to needing to chop a lot off to make it look good again after the botch job I came in with.
BACKGROUND: I've been going to the same stylist out of state since I was 16 years old (so, nearly 17 years). When she retired, I trusted her colleague to take care of me until my latest cut was butchered. I saw reviews for Elie Tanous Salon, saw it was literally half a mile from my work, and RAN on in during a break.
While my hair is super cute overall and looks as good as possible given the starting-point, I don't want to do Mina the disservice of posting before and after pictures just yet. She explained that the front of my hair needs to grow out and re-thicken a bit after the previous fiasco (the face-framing layers I asked for on the previous cut came out as two uneven, horizontal shelves of hair). Plus I didn't have time for Mina to touch up my color. Meantime, even though it's by necessity a work in progress, I'm SO happy and know I'm...
Read moreAll the reviews that I'm reading describe an awesome salon visit, however, never ever hire anyone from this salon to do your hair for your wedding....unless you want to pay an absorbent amount of money for absolutely nothing. You will end up having to redo 4 out of 5 bridesmaids hair (like my friend the BRIDE had to do!). Plain and simple, the 3 stylists that showed up the morning of were extremely nice but dealing with the them was a nightmare from start to finish. All of the planning and execution the day of was handled very poorly and VERY unprofessionally. A few stylists ended up asking the bridesmaids for styling products and even asked one of them if she had a hair tie for her updo, she ended up using an actual rubber band to secure her hair! I've never been one to write a bad review in my life publicly, however, having witnessed how stressed out and upset my best friend was on her wedding day and to see her redo almost all of her bridesmaids hair instead of relaxing and enjoying her day made me very upset! I hope this review gives you some hesitation if you are planning on booking with this salon for...
Read moreI love the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of Elie Tanous Salon. The stylists, front desk staff, and the owner, are professional, respectful and easy to talk to. I love that when I go see my stylist, although the salon is busy, I do not feel rushed or like "just another client". My stylist knows me well and knows what I like. She also does an excellent job of listening to me and creating an end result that I feel happy with. Furthermore, through talking with my stylist, I have learned that Elie provides unique educational opportunities for stylists to improve and develop their craft that other salons do not have. I think that this provides a higher level of service above and beyond other salons. The stylists are constantly improving, learning new techniques, and keeping up with trends through these educational opportunities. Everyone at Elie Tanous is knowledgable about their position and is truly happy to work there. Lastly, they have the best hair treatments out of ANY salon around. If you want your hair to be smooth, hydrated and shiny, look no further.
I highly recommend Elie...
