This is the best place in the valley (with the best prices) to buy fruit, particularly those that are harder to find in area chain grocery stores, like rambutan, lychee, mangosteen, guava, etc. As many are seasonal items, Tran's updates their Facebook page when they receive fresh shipments of fruit, along with a list of what came in.

They are also often willing to give better prices on items purchased by the case, so if you have a favorite flavor of Ramune, a chest freezer, or simply prefer to buy your rambutan in units of five pound boxes, it's definitely worth inquiring about. And that's on top of their already very decent pricing.

Side note: if you can't find something, just ask at the front. They will be able to tell you exactly where it is, and usually they'll even know whether it's in stock or not.

Plus, the family that owns it is lovely, and besides shopping at other small stores like River Valley or Cornucopia, the alternate options are mega-corporations or a local chain that doesn't even value their employees enough to give them a store discount (something standard in the industry). Tran's World food market is a market like no other in the valley, and they carry nearly every Asian and Eastern food one can imagine. Although their isles are rather snug and have very tall racks, they carry more than your average supermarket at 2 or 3 times the size. The staff and ownership are always kind and sweet, and very helpful. They carry a lot of herbs and spices from all over the world, as well as many prepared foods packaged, canned, boxed, or bagged. They don't have too many foods that are ready to eat. They do have a lot of refrigerated and Frozen juices concentrates fish and other seafood in their frozen section, and many restaurant supplies. I can not believe that I've lived here for over 30 years and never walked into this Asian Market, until this year. This precious little market has all kinds of products, from all over the world . They have many specialty products. You can find just about anything you need that you need to make that special dish. The cashier seems to be quite knowledgeable about the multiple uses and the multiple health benefits of many of the products in the store.
