For those of you who are not interested in the details, Aligned has caused me nothing but trouble and stress. This is one of the most disorganized businesses I have had the displeasure of visiting. I'm not one to complain, but my experience here was exceptionally terrible and I hope I can save you from a similar experience.
For those of you who want the details, I'll start at the beginning, when I went to attend my first yoga class at Aligned.
After seeing the 7pm Tuesday night yoga class on the website's calendar, I decided one evening to give it a try. When I got to Aligned, the office was dark and locked. I and two other women went home after waiting outside the dark locked office until 7:15 and finally determining yoga was not going to happen that night, contrary to the information on the website.
I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and called the next day to confirm that yoga was indeed offered here. I was assured that yoga happens every Tuesday and my first attempt was a fluke. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have never returned after learning how in the dark I would be as a customer here.
I however did go back the next week and continued to practice yoga at Aligned for a couple of months, until I was informed Ashley, the primary yoga instructor, was leaving. The class was told that there was no replacement instructor yet, but we would be informed when the position was filled. I had just bought a 10-pack of yoga classes for $100.
After not hearing anything about future yoga classes and intermittently checking the website, which I had written off as inaccurate (the Tuesday night yoga class remained on the calendar even though I was told there was no longer an instructor and moreover, the yoga class page lists "Yoga For Everybody! with Ashley" as the yoga class, which I knew was incorrect since Ashley left), I called approximately 3 months after my last class to work something out with the remaining 9 classes/$90 on my account. I was told by the receptionist that she would talk to the doctor and get back to me. Not to my surprise, I did not hear back. I called a week later, the receptionist again took my information, and after another week, I still had not heard back. Finally, after my third call to Aligned and the third time leaving my information with the receptionist, I was able to get an answer.
I was informed that since I did not use my classes, I would not be refunded the entire $90 because my yoga pack "expired." I would instead get a $25 credit towards a massage. Had I known that my yoga pack had an expiration date or that yoga was continuing, I would not be in this dilemma. But the outdated website did not provide useful. I also provided my email address to Aligned to be on the yoga email list, which is the route though which I should have been updated about yoga picking back up, which didn't happen.
Moreover, had I learned this information the FIRST time I called, I might have gotten a larger refund (or should I say "credit" to spend more money there) since less of my classes would have "expired."
So basically, Aligned stole $65 from me. The only good thing about Aligned was Ashley and she left. I would not recommend...
