WAS PAST TENSE -- BEST FISH FRY IN TOWN. SEE UPDATE AT END This place deserves to be on your must try Friday Fish Fry list. My wife and went there on a Friday night around 6pm and there was a line of 15 cars doing fish fry take out. That should tell you something. Despite the lot being near full, we waited just 15 minutes for a table. I had the beer battered cod (three huge rectangular chunks) and wife the boiled fish with carrots, garlic mashed potatoes and hollindaise sauce. For both of us it was more than we could eat. My cole slaw was perfect. The fries were fantastic, and I could have substituted a baked potato or garlic mashed. The single slice of rye bread was very small. I was told of a recent price increase from $10 to $13 but even at $13 it was well worth it. They also have an amazing array of on tap beers. We will become regulars! UPDATE!! May 27 2022. The price has now gone to $15 for fish fry, $16 for boiled and $17 for broiled. I was also charged a $3 upcharge for substituting onion rings for fries so my fish fry was now $18. I am revising my score to 4 becasue this is no longer such a good deal. The volume of patrons was also way down as others too have noticed the big price changes. We will come every once in a while but no longer a first choice. Food is good but so many other places are also very good for less.

GREAT: • Fries - perfectly crispy, fresh, delicious • Beer - selection GOOD: • Ambience - there are definitely regulars and I imagine that’s with good reason. Loud, but we sat by the bar. Maybe less loud in the other part of the restaurant? Be sure you like country music, though. • Service - friendly. Reasonable wait time even though it was pretty busy. MEH: • Fish Sandwich - bland. Fish was dry. American cheese doesn’t add anything. • Brisket Sandwich - Ok, just nothing special. Light on the bbq sauce. Very smoky, but thankfully not too salty or dry. Maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff 🤷🏻‍♀️

The staff is super friendly that’s a great thing! Nice selection of beers on tap. The food, although not the greatest, it was still pretty decent. There’s definitely room for improvement, I’d recommend focusing more on the flavor rather than the size of the meal, quality over quantity. I would definitely order the nachos again, I’m not so sure about the burger, wish the meat had more flavor to it. Even if the food wasn’t the greatest, the ambiance of the place was great, and the decorations of the place are really cool! I would come back again for the vibe of the place.

Rude, offensive, disrespectful and unpatriotic.

I have been to the Bosch Tavern twice. On both occasions, the bartender gave me dirty looks when she approached, as if her body language was saying “we don’t want you in here”.

The first time I went there (at about 10:30pm), there were 3 customers at the bar, so I bought a drink for myself and a round of shots for the house, including the bartender, with hopes of lightening the bartender’s mood. Immediately after we drank the shots, the bartender told me the bar was closing and that I only had time for one drink. However, as I finished my drink, I saw that the bartender was still pouring drinks for the other customers, so I asked if I could have another drink at which time she reiterated that the bar was closing and I had to go.

Having just bought her and the house a round at a considerable price and then for her to continue pouring other customers drinks while telling me I had to leave, I found her conduct to be offensive and disrespectful, particularly considering she didn’t even offer to reciprocate with a shot. Nevertheless, I left a tip, said good night and departed.

Thinking I had been treated badly because I had never been in there before, I decided to go back another day hoping they would be more receptive towards a returning customer. But, it was the same bartender and somewhat of a replay of the first occasion.

After waiting a few minutes to get served while she appeared to be deliberately ignoring me, the bartender finally approached and told me the bar was closing early and that I only had time for one drink, so I ordered a glass of beer, a jaeger bomb and was charged $9. However, in watching her make my jaeger bomb out the corner of my eye, she poured the Red Bull and then barely poured a few drops (less than a teaspoon) of jagermeister in my drink.

After I finished my drink, I saw she was still pouring the other customers drinks after telling me I only had time for one, so I asked if I could have another. Again, she told me the bar was closing and that I had to go, so I said good night, left a tip and departed.

After leaving the bar, I went to another bar and had to drive by the Bosch Tavern on my way home, which was about 2 hours later at around 1:00am, at which time I could clearly see that the bar was still open and had customers inside.

I am a disabled Vietnam War veteran and wear a patch that indicates that fact. I am also a senior citizen and a bit rugged looking in the face, but yet am frail and don’t threaten people.

I was not drunk or unkempt when I went into the bar. I did not cause a disturbance when I was in the bar… and other than the fact I was wearing a patch that identified me as a Vietnam War veteran or the fact I’m a frail old man, I did not see a clear reason as to why I was not welcome nor did I feel I deserved to be treated as if I was unfit to be in there, particularly considering I laid my life on the line to defend that bartender’s freedoms.

People approach me on a daily basis to shake my hand and say things like “Thank you for your service” or “Welcome home”, but not at the Bosch Tavern. At the Bosch Tavern, the atmosphere was more like “We don’t want your kind in here”.

Further, I think charging me $9 for a glass of beer and a watered down drink was not only a rip off, but was her way of saying “Don’t come back”.

So, if you don't mind supporting businesses that discriminate against war veterans and/or senior citizens and/or people who don’t have a pretty face, then this is the place. If you do mind or don't want to be seen in such an establishment, then I would suggest boycotting it, even if you do...

I went to the Bosch on a Sunday afternoon after my wedding. It was a very small wedding so the people we couldn't invite we asked them to join us there. There was never more than 30 of us and we were all spread out between the tables. There was never over 8 people up at the bar from my party ever. We also called in the morning to tell them to expect a group of people in the afternoon. Our server took care of the majority of us and did an excellent job. The bartender KATIE on the other hand was ridiculous. She was rude and made my guests wait over 15 minutes to even order their drinks. We were not rude drunk or obnoxious at all as it was early in the day and prior to going there we were at my church. I remember everything as I was not drinking at all. There were 5 people up at the bar from my party. KATIE was rude and poured incorrect drinks and snapped at my guests because she was annoyed we were there. I confronted her and said I will have my whole party go through the server if you treat us like this. She rep[lied that we were not the only ones in the bar. There were less than 5 tables in the restaurant before us and only about 10 people up at the bar. We were not expecting them to drop everyone else and take care of us. I asked her if she could be nicer to my guests and she rolled her eyes at me and said that she didn't know we were coming in. I told her that it didn't matter if she knew or not her behavior wax unacceptable so I asked her name in which she again rolled her eyes at me and replied KATIE in the most disgusted way she possibly could. We left because everyone hated being there and I was sure to speak with a manager at a later date. It has been 3 weeks since my wedding. I have called twice to speak with a manager and apparently there are never any there day or night. I left my name and number for one to call me back. I never got a response. I am sickened by the way I was treated on my wedding day and know that they lost a lot respect that day from many patrons who will not be returning...
