I have always hated Costco in the past. Not that I think it is a bad store by any means I just have always hated the lines and how packed it is. Especially ours in Visalia it is always loaded. So when Hanford announced they got one it really had no bearing on my life at all. However many people from Visalia said they preferred this location to ours in town mainly because there are very short lines. Recently in needing to do more shopping for my grandparents I decided to give this Costco a go. What I love about it right off the bat is that shopping at the Hanford location is much quieter and more peaceful than our store in Visalia. Parking is also a lot better. So I have learned to actually enjoy shopping at Costco because of this location. While this is the best store I have visited I am taking off a couple stars for 2 reasons. 1: As some other reviewers have mentioned this is a smaller store as a result you will not find everything here that the Visalia or Fresno locations have. This can be frustrating because a yogurt my family likes is only available at the Visalia location, and not at this one. So expect they will not be stocked on everything you have seen at other Costco locations. 2. I also agree with some other reviewers about the customer service. Some of the cashiers have been very friendly and the gentleman at the food court was very, very nice. However some other cashiers and those on the sales floor react as if they don't care about their customers. I know Costco for the most part is a store where you pretty much know what to get when shopping there, but once in a while help is needed and I feel some of the employees here could be friendlier and act as if they appreciate the business you give their store. The Visalia location has better customer service, but that is the only edge they have to this location. Still, I love the fact that I can get to this location in the same amount (if not faster) time it takes to get to Visalia's which is on the other side of town for me, and I love that I can shop quietly and quickly so on that level this Costco has the best their store...
Read moreI live in Fresno, and been a member over 10 years now. Costco is my favorite store to shop and my son's love tagging along for costco delicious food court. My son tends to always order the pizza first while we look around, so we can eat once were done shopping. Well last week when we decide to come stop by this costco, my son went to do the usual by ordering first and he entered through the exist since he typically does that. I entered through the entrance and was looking at the items that were displayed by the entrance when my son comes to me, by the way he's 8 years old. I asked him if he was short on money or was he really that fast in ordering and he replied by stating that the employees standing by the exist wouldn't allow him to enter since he didn't have a membership card to show to get in. I was so confused why they would ask a 8 year old child for a membership card. Like are the dumb or just haters towards children. Even if my son wanted to apply for a card, he would immediately be denied because duh...hes a child. When I visited my local costco at Fresno by Blackstone, I had asked the manager if it's policy to ask for a membership card when entering through the exist and also if its policy to ask children for a membership card. He chuckled and replied and I quote 'no ma'am that would be absurd asking children for a membership card, when they are not even allowed to apply for one and for that first question, no we do not ask any individuals for a membership card when entering through the exist. My first visit to the Hanford Costco was a rude first impression since they were unwelcoming. They clearly did that for a reason since it is not policy to ask children for a membership card or even ask anyone for a card when entering through the exist. Will not drive all the way here again! Do not waste your time here and do...
Read moreMy wife and I have purchased a portion of my product from Costco with food stamps for the last 3 years.
Today, on 08/04/2020 at approx 5:30PM my wife went to pay with her EBT card. The Costco employee told my wife she would not accept her payment.
I told the employee this is the intended payment. i had to announce to her and everyone that i was paying with food stamps, but she would not let me. She stating i am the Card Holder and the payment must come from me. i told her this is my wife and she lives with me under the same household and we can provide both of our ID's reflecting the same last name and same address if need be. i had to elevate it the manager as she kept telling me she would not accept payment.
she goes and get the assistant manager Michael and they have a private conversation away from us before he approaches me and states to me i am the card holder and the payment must come from me. I offer him the same ID's with matching addresses and he give me the same response. I tell him i have purchased items from the store with the same EBT food stamp card for the last 3 years of my membership. He gave me the same response. I told him he is just repeating the same statement to me. He gave me the same response.
Never in my life have i ever been so embarrassed in front of so many people having to state i would like to buy groceries with government assisted food stamps. I had to leave 230 dollars of groceries and about 250 dollars of items i intended to pay with cash on the conveyor belt because of how Micheal the Assistant GM treated me.
I will not be returning to this store and i will be canceling my membership with this company. Their statement is to value their customers and the loyalty to their brand. I have lost all faith in them. If i could give 0...
