If there were the possibility of rating zero stars I would have. This is exactly what is wrong with our world systems and lack of understanding and live.Please- Listen up! I brought my 14 year old chaweenie I severe pain in for euthanasia. I was in tears. My family member. My 14 year long companion. Weighing 8-9 lbs such a tiny thing I could not bear to watch him suffer. Upon arriving they had me take him into room 6. They then told me they would be taking him in back to put a catheter in; that got my nerves going I worried they would not be gentle with him so I told them not to squeeze his abdomen, that even though he is lethargic he will let them know as he did me by nipping. I told them he was biting at me even though he did not hurt me or break my skin. This is how I knew something had burst on his underside. He can’t walk and barely has any teeth left- but that word was their signal for the Karen’s to spring into action.these hero wannabes need to proclaim their need to be noticed for what? Some skill at following some ridiculous law that if one is worried about their pet they just may use a word wrong - but did they not have eyes? Gentle bites are obviously unlawful. Too immature to think for themselves and make a humane decision, they take their attention seeking behaviors out on a suffering sentient being. They came at me dutifully endorsing this said suffering for my baby of 14 years. They said because I used the word bite they would not offer him the humane act and would now make out a report. O M G! No broken skin just my sincere concern that they would hurt him while not under my supervision .These crazy Karen’s who want to fake like they are some hero didn’t even look at my loving pet. Nor the alleged bite they wanted me to have. I called them back and told them all I wanted was for them to be gentle with him. Back at the office I had told them I had his tags and medical records; but that didn’t matter to them . They were perfectly fine in letting a frail lil thing suffer. They didn’t even look at him outside his opened door of his pet carrier; where you could clearly see his pitiful eyes all sad. He didn’t make a peep just laid there calmly. He could have been bleeding out for all they knew; because they didn’t bother to look at him. At home he hadn’t left his room for two years due to a surgical procedure gone wrong.Poor baby would squeal when trying to walk. Was it about money? I don’t even think so - these young girls are trying to look important. They just have this Karen syndrome -like and the more they can document the more their life may be worth. Love doesn’t live here. Will be...
Read moreBe prepared to feel like you are purchasing a home or a car and not seeking treatment for a sick animal. If you don't have the money they will have no problem letting you know euthanization is your best option. After being told my dog was sick because she had an enlarged spleen and that it needed to be removed ASAP or it would kill her, we were informed they would not even start the procedure until we had 75% down of the high estimate of $2100. Other options were care credit or a clinic in the city with no guarantee they can take your pet since it's for low income families. We were able to get together the 1300 they required and dropped her off for surgery. 3 hours later we received a call that they misdiagnosed her and she did not need a splenectomy. To late! They had already cut her open and realized that the problem was with her bladder which is a procedure that does not involve being cut open and certainly was not the 2100 high that they quoted us. We did receive a credit for $185 although I'm not sure what for since my billing statement still said they performed a splenectomy which they did not. We picked her up with instructions on her home care and were told we would need to express her bladder 3 times a day for the rest of her life and that maybe it was neurological (It was not). We were totally on board for this....Fast forward 3 days later and we were hit with a new diagnosis. Something that should have been discovered when she was dropped for her unnecessary splenectomy surgery. She had some kind of blockage preventing her from peeing. It's apparently pretty common and they already discovered her bladder was the issue but yet never bothered to check if she had a blockage that could kill her. Based on her symptoms it was pretty obvious which I learned from a simple google search. It would require more money and if we didn't have it our only option was to put her to sleep since she was in pain and suffering. It took a long time for my family and I to make the heartbreaking decision, but not before the Dr. said we had plenty of time as long as we did it by 7:30 (closing time). I could go on but for what? I could tell them how I feel their negligence contributed to her death but it wont bring her back. Please keep your pets away from here!!! They are only in it for the $$$$$ and do not have the animals best interest at heart. In response to the owner. You forgot to mention that I was in your clinic over a week before I left my review. I expressed my concerns to your office manager who promised to get back to me...
Read moreHorrible experience my dog Lulu was taken here for regular check ups during this, her doctor told us that she had elevated kidney levels. Her doctor recommended us Thrive ER in hoffman estates worse mistake to have done!!!! I am upset because Dr. Garvey recommended us Thrive they scammed us out of money and the Thrive ER team were incompetent, rude, and money hungry scammers. I wish more research was done by Lulu's vet so she had not experience a nightmare at Thrive. She was brought in by us because our veterinary recommended us this place. Lulu stayed for 2 nights that cost us $5,000. When we discharged her she was so tense and scared. Lulu sees her new veterinary in Bartlett and they do liquid therapy for her kidneys at a much more affordable price of $29 a session and blood work for an affordable price. If you truly love your dog please stay away from this money making scammers. We were never given the right information about her diagnosis was it acute or chronic or if it was treatable during her time there. They just kept asking can she stay another night plus giving us a $7,000 estimate for another night. This place never showed us her test results in person or proof only asked for more money with unclear communication over the phone they hanged up on me twice. Finally after the nightmare was over we decided to take Lulu back home and they gave her antibiotics and told us to bring her back for fluids and blood work. Never again! Why couldn't they just say, " hey here is her medication and you can take her home and go to your veterinary to check her kidney levels and liquids for therapy?" My point is they just wanted my Lulu to stay there to keep charging us more. Do your own research and save your dog by taking them out of this place. Poor recommendation by one of the doctors from Hanover Park Animal Care Center gave my furry one and our family a nightmare. Please stay away from this place and Thrive in...
