Extremely large selection of fresh meats, produce , canned goods and household necessities , usually at competitive prices but you pretty much have to be very price aware just like anywhere else. I've been going to this location on a regular basis for a few years . ( it's not even close to being convenient , I drive from Allentown , just over a mile from Wegmans Allentown ) The employees here have provided excellent customer service time and time again , you won't see them standing around talking or looking away when there's a cashier needing assistance or customers waiting at the service counter . I never feel like I'm a major interruption to their day when asking for assistance of any kind . I get the feeling the employees at the Bethlehem store really like their jobs and are genuinely happy and proud to be providing excellent customer service . This particular store is usually well stocked with no empty sections of shelving where products are meant to be. ( they blow the Allentown location away in keeping the shelves stocked and filtering out the produce that's no longer fit to sell ) Needed precautions are always in place during " bad " weather to keep floors dry with signage in place to alert customers to be aware of possible slippery areas , at times we're all guilty of being preoccupied and having someplace else to get to. I highly recommend Wegmans Bethlehem to anyone who hasn't yet explored it , I find it to be a step above the usual food store . * Hey Kitty , lighten up a little ! life is too short to get so upset because the salmon rolls were still in the process of being made when you got there , sounds like you really had a bad day ( week , month ? ) wouldn't it be great if everything in life just fell into place and went our way because we wanted it to ? Oh well , back...
Read moreThe store is big and beautiful. They have a great selection of prepared foods, specialty cheeses, baked goods, and a huge alcohol department. All of the things you'd expect in a good Wegmans. I've had multiple good experiences with the staff however my wife has had trouble with a few of the cashiers that work closer to closing multiple times. We've both worked in people pleasing industries before. Some of the things they've said and done to and around her are completely unacceptable. No one should have to feel like a burden as a customer let alone a nurse still in her scrubs. This store has become a last resort for us as it's one of the latest to close in the area.
Coming back to edit my review with yet another disappointing trip through the Wegmans Bethlehem self checkout. Upon receiving an error at the kiosk, employee Kevin turns to my wife and I and asks "What did you do?" I repeated his statement back to him questioning why or how a customer service representative would ever say something like that to a customer only to be ignored. He then told another employee "They broke it" and she fixed the issue then educated him as to what was happening. No apology or acknowledgement was ever offered.
We come here all of the time because Wegmans is open late and close to home. Its gotten to the point where I would rather not have the groceries than deal with the attitudes that these employees have. It's like they intentionally hire rude people to work up front.
Stocking staff is always nice...
Read moreI have noticed that this store and other Wegmans in this area are often out of basic items (i.e. regular grape jelly, cream cheese, Q-tips, etc). This isn't an occasional problem and I don't believe it's supply chain-related. It's been going on for months, and I haven't encountered it in any other grocery stores in the area--although store employees have tried to tell me it's happening everywhere. I tried to shop here the other night and four of the first six things on my list were unavailable. At that point I decided to cut my losses and leave--without buying anything--since I knew I would have to shop elsewhere anyway. Full disclosure: I worked in this store for about two years, nearly 20 years ago. It certainly wasn't like this when I worked there and I don't understand the blind devotion others have to it now. What good is a huge grocery store that lacks basic items? I like Wegmans, but they need to do better by their customers. Those of us who are discriminating consumers know we have other options and we're taking advantage of them. I don't know anyone who can afford to waste gas at $4+ gal. driving to a store that doesn't have half of...
