Hunt's Photo and Video — Local services in Hanover

I visited Hunt's in Hanover yesterday and was helped by Demitri and Chad (I am terrible with names so I hope I got them both right).

First and foremost I just purchased a camera somewhere else and I wish I hadn't. This business has anything you are looking for. Being an absolute beginner, I did not feel at any point that my lack of knowledge was taken advantage of in an effort to sell me something I didn't want/need. And the lens I purchased was considerably cheaper than anywhere I found online just the night before.

In reality, I my rating would be a 4.99/5 if it was more accurate only because I was considering a Nikon flash and the store didn't have any new ones in stock (there was a pre-owned one and other brands available new). If that one detail had been different it would be 5/5 easily! But I am still very much looking forward to going back for one soon. No where else will be getting my business after that experience. And customer service should have been a 7 or...

EDIT: after leaving a poor review and a 1 star rating, the next day the store manager, chad, called me personally and made things right, he took his time and spoke with me about what I had originally called about and he even offered to discount the lens and put it on hold for me out of courtesy. I changed my rating to a 5 star and I will be giving them my business in the future. thank you chad!

on 1/25/25 at about 4:30 pm I called the hunts camera in Hanover MA to ask about a FEW different lens options.

the employee's response was exactly this:

"you're going to need to narrow your options. I'm not a museum or a playground...".

what a strange way to speak to someone who is potentially willing to spend thousands of dollars at your place of work.

I was looking to purchase a new camera and was unsure where to begin. I looked online at several different camera stores. I was not sure exactly what camera to buy so I was doing some research and seeing what's out there. I saw Hunt's in Hanover come up and decided to stop by. I was immediately greeted and helped right away. Kevin was very knowledgeable about everything cameras and photography and he helped me find something within my budget. I was able to get some hands on time with the cameras and Kevin answered everyone of my long list of questions. The customer service here was great. I did not feel any pressure at all to purchase something nor was the team trying to upsell me on anything. I did not make a decision that day but came back a week later to make my purchase.
