I really wish I could write a better review since the facility itself was bright, clean, and spacious with plenty of parking. Much nicer then the one we used to go to in Montclair. I didn't see anything for the kids to do if they didn't sign up for a class, but I was ok with that since I was only really interested in swim lessons. The pool was big with multiple lanes and I appreciate that they have a dedicated family locker room in addition to the normal men's and women's locker rooms. I took my son for a swim evaluation and spoke with the aquatics director about signing up for private lessons. He gave me his card and said to email him once I joined. He would then look at the schedule and get us set up. I joined the next morning and emailed him. He got back to me quickly and said he would check the schedule. After a week with no word, I followed up. He apologized and said he had been out of office and would get back to me Thursday afternoon. Not a problem. Thursday and Friday came and went with no response so I followed up again. No response for 4 more days, then finally he asked me if a certain day and time worked. I replied within an hour saying yes and asked how to complete signup and when would classes start. Then nothing. After another week without a response. I gave up and asked for a refund for the membership since I was still within my first 30 days. The support team were friendly and helpful processing the refund. It was quick and painless. Only after I canceled did I get a response asking if I saw his suggested time. It was literally a reply to my email that said it worked and asking when we could start. facepalm. I thought I might not have been patient enough, but for reference, the two other swim schools I contacted both responded same day and my son started the same week with...
Read moreAttention all parents of Sussex County. This is the worse most overpriced crap camp in existence.Your promised by camp director that they take care and precautions of children with allergy s.Only to find out that the 14 and 15 year old counselors torture your child and leave him in room with the exact things you were promised would have precautions. The activities involved peanut containing ingredients that you were promised would have had precautions. My son who had a prior incident at a camp which he came into contact with Peanut Butter,he had to be rushed to the hospital. He went into a panic attack and just simply asked to be removed or call his parents so he could home. The refused this request. They force your children to do things they do not want to be involved with, and threaten them with threats of calls to home or talks with your parents. The counselors are supposed to be of college age and was told this as well-The counselors are as old as 14 years of age and have supervision of your children!!!! They are also volunteers and are paid nothing. Also they have a great deal here. For the great deal of value they are giving you for all these wonderful activities you were promised-Like a trip to Anderson Farms or a nice day at the flood created Lake of White Lake County club. Not only were these trips Atrocious but the parents provide the transportation to get there as well as be picked up.Here the deal pay for a Y member ship and enjoy all this joy for a discount. So in other words your paying for the Y and Y itself. If you were looking for entertainment and summer fun for your child here you will be terribly disappointed.Oh yes I'm sorry did I mention this...
Read moreMy family has cancelled our membership with this establishment after being denied entry despite paying $86 monthly for more than a year for a “family” membership. Upon attempting to utilize our “family” membership, we were turned away at the door because a family constitutes only two individuals according to this facility. The plan was advertised as including all members of the family, so long as only two passes were used at a time.
Well, when myself and another member of my family arrived, we were very rudely turned away at the entrance and this leads me to believe that the terms regarding the “family” membership are nothing like they sound.
Needless to say, we won’t be conducting any more business with any YMCA branded facilities in the future and I am incredibly disappointed with an organization I once thought to be a pillar of it our local community.
After leaving the facility, my mother called to cancel our "family" membership and was told by the front desk staff that I (her son) had been rude, belligerent, profane, and had disturbed other members. I'd like to make it clear that at no point did I raise my voice, use any profanity, display a threatening posture, or speak/act in any inappropriate manner. I was and still am disappointed that the plan my family has been paying for didn't include the services it appeared to, but a followup telephone conversation with the employee who was attending the front desk at 1:30PM on 6/23/18 yielded no apology and certainly showed no intent to regain the business lost by the initial vagary of the membership terms or brusqueness of...
