Bailey Island General Store — Local services in Harpswell

If I could rate this general store 5.7 billion stars out of 5 I would. The folks that work there are as kind as can be, and the food they offer is top notch. During our stay on Bailey island, my girlfriend and I had their breakfast sandwich, pancake breakfast with eggs, their steak bomb sandwich, pastrami sandwich, and Reuben sandwich, all of which were superb. I’ve been going to Bailey island every summer for 40+ years and it doesn’t ever sink in that we’re back until we stop, that first full day, for our pancake at BIGS. Me and my husband stopped in on Monday afternoon and was not very pleased with our visit. We ordered two Italians and waited over a half an hour for our food. In the mean time we did not see a single employee wash their hands.
