Sunday may 4th. Went to buy a bag of ice and a couple of other items. At checkout the clerk scanned a code for ice and rang up the other two items. $9 plus. Thought it was a little high but paid for it anyway. At leaving the store I checked receipt and discovered I wasnât charged for ice but for a 32oz drink at $5. Went back in the store to get this corrected and the clerk thought he returned the $5 charge back to my card. He then rang up the ice which I paid for with my card. On checking the return he did, it wasnât a return at all but yet another charge for $5. So I once again brought this to the clerks attention, and he called on another employee in the store to come a do return. He did the same thing as the first clerk. It ended up in yet another charge for $5 on my card. At this point they now have charged $15.60 including tax to my card. They didnât know what else to do so they called the manager for help and the manger informed them that I would need to come back next day to fix this because the manger was not available to come to the store. I said this is not acceptable and was then told to call a customer care line to see if anything could be done. Customer care only took information and said she would pass this on to district manager to handle and they would give me a call on Monday. As of Monday at 4PM I have attempted to call the store where all this took place and they will not answer or put it on hold and never get back. And the district manager has yet to call. Not sure what my next step is. But do plan to go by the store again tomorrow to try and get this resolved. $15.60 isnât much to most but to me who lives on social Security income itâs a lot. Very disappointed. Once resolved Iâll never go to this DG again. This is a failure on mangers part to properly train there employees and to care enough for their customers to satisfy and complaints in a...
Read moreSo my wife just went to get a couple of things from Dollar General, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. I did not know this before she left but she got a case of water. First of all I would've gone with her to help carry any heavy items. She did not intend on getting anything heavier than a gallon of milk but she saw it and thought we needed it. Instead of the employees offering to scan the water in the basket at the register they had her pick it up so they could scan it...and no one offered to help her put it in the car. I wouldn't have a problem with this normally at all but she's 7 months pregnant! Have a little respect for other people it's literally your job to give good customer service! Even if it's not your job it's just common courtesy. I guess I will be going with my wife everywhere from now on because you can't count on people...
Read moreThe manager on duty May 22 around 10:30-11 am with the name Ann (if that is her name) has the worst attitude! She doesn't like to help any of her customers and seems to think being dismissive of customer concerns is okay. She also has a habit of calling the police on customers that ask for her name and the name of her district manager. I witnessed her allow 2 customers to then verbally attack and an older lady who was rightfully asking these questions afjter she displayed this extremely rude behavior. If she doesn't know how to handle customer concerns she should not be in any sort of management position. Shame on you for allowing this behavior in...
