This is my favorite place to get roasted fresh chile and chile salsa at the legendary village of Hatch! They have so many varieties of condiments and gifts its worth mentioning its a must see and spend some time to appreciate everything this store has to offer! I've met the owner and he is one of the nicest people I've ever met, gets out of his way to accommodate any request you may have. One time he was about to close shop already to go home after a long day of work, and i was running kind of late for his business hours, but he happily stayed open after i asked him if i could buy some dry chile bags and salsas and i was able to take some nice gifts for my Boss in Denver CO before leaving home back to work. Anybody else would've probably said theyre closed for the day and come back another time. But not him, its just something i really appreciate when they do something special just for you to gain your loyalty and business. Every time i stop here, i spend a generous amount to support that effort, and I'll never forget that moment. It's places like these that make towns like Hatch memorable and make people return for more! I've learned that this shop grows its own chiles, so youre getting prime selections on merchandise from the farm to your table. And you really can't beat that! I'd give more than 5 stars if i could, thats how good this place is! It has a place in my very...
Read moreYou walk in, and the smell of chile, garlic, oregano, and cilantro is amazing! My husband walked around sniffing and smacking his lips. The brightly colorful Mexican artifacts are candy to the eyes, and I walked out with my arms full of gifts & goodies! I couldn't resist the cute, pink coffee warmer for myself either! Beautiful crosses hang on the walls, and i picked one for my daughter. The brand on the spices is Grajeda Farms. They even sell mixed spices, like taco seasoning, garlic salt and Menudo Mix, which smells amazing, by the way. I'm going to give some of that to my son, because he loves to cook! They have the spices packaged in different sizes, so if you don't need a big bag, you can buy a small bag. The building is bright red and right on the main road. Strung, dried red chiles hang all around the covered patio, letting you know you're in the right place. This is a great place to buy "Hecho en Mexico" gifts and every kind of chile you can think of. Oh, and don't forget the pecans! There's so much more, so make sure to pull off highway 25 at Hatch, New Mexico, the Chile Capitol...
Read moreI have shopped this market for my annual green chile run for better than a decade. They always have the freshest green chile in a variety of heats. They are masters at roasting the chile so the skins char but the flesh stays firm. I always add the 'peel' service where they spray off most of the charred peeling and cool the chile at the same time. I am never ever disappointed!!
In light of current situation, will add that they have a process where there is only one person in the store with which you have contact and they are wearing a mask. Then just a wait til they call your name, wave 👋 and they put the load in your vehicle. Felt very...
