It's Saturday morning and I'm trying to pick up new pants for my 1-year-old daughter as the seasons are starting to change. I walk into the store to grab a shopping cart and the search is as follows: the first one still had trash in it from the last patron, second one's buckle didn't work, The third one's didn't have a strap small enough to accommodate a 20 lb child, and the fourth one's front tire was unpleasantly loud.
Needless to say, the quality at Kohl's has severely gone down since I was a kid. Not sure if I'm looking back with my rose-colored glasses, but the current Khol's experience leaves quite a bit to be desired.
It shouldn't take more than two tries to find an acceptable cart.
Needless to say, we left without anything.
Significant reputational risks exist with the current quality presented to retail patrons, especially with Millennials finally having kids and making buying decisions...
Read moreI am so frustrated right now. I understand that it's almost Christmas and Hanukkah, and shopping is a mob scene, but not ONE employee was on the floors to help the customers. I had a question and wanted some advice about something, and I couldn't find one person to ask. I'm sure everyone was stationed at the cash registers, but not even every counter was open and there was a line through the store. They should have staffed better for the holidays. Part of the problem may be that they didn't seem to have any uniform at all. I wouldn't have known who to ask. But it was getting more and more apparent that I was getting frustrated as I wandered the building wondering if anyone I was eyeing was an employee. If anyone was, they walked right by me. Read moreUsually have a good experience with this store... But making a return became a fiasco... The associates at customer service were accommodating as much as they could be but didn't leave me wanting to return to the store anytime soon, and I did speak with the store manager who is very apologetic. But what people don't realize is if you would have just given a store credit for something I had a receipt for I probably would have spent another $30 and walked out of there with a bag rather than the need to have my attitude adjusted... I understand customer service, I know what it's like to be on the receiving end... But I don't appreciate it when somebody throws their hand in your face and tells you that they're trying to explain...
