I'm coming back to work out after injury recovery and travel out of town. I have always jumped rope as a full body warm up. The staff stopped me the other day saying it was against policy. They listed a variety of reasons including that jump ropes are dangerous, and what if everyone wanted to jump rope at the same time? To the former, a jump rope is a whole lot less dangerous than ANY of the other equipment already in the gym. And as far as managing the use of a jump rope the owners could simply designate a spot on the floor with paint. Jump rope there and general gym etiquette takes over. If someone is already there you wait your turn. There was no coherent discussion with the staff, they all had a power trip attitude especially the two females about the only answer is no. I did not feel like I was being heard. They just told me the policy was "no out side gym equipment allowed.". Okay, where does that stop? That is pretty subjective, and subject to be applied unevenly.. as I found out today it's okay for people to bring in their own stretch bands. When I asked the staff why that was okay and not my jump rope they had no objective answers. I do not like the way the staff is applying rules per their whims, they apply their own policy with loose interpretation and it changes daily. I do not feel welcome, I felt gymtimidated by the staff themselves. I will find another place to work out and...
Read moreReally pissed off I can’t give this planet fitness zero stars! Their employees don’t know how to do their job! My husband and I went in to this planet fitness to switch my account into his name because I was put on bed rest due to complications during my pregnancy. They had him sign something, and said it was done. He even walked in using the card after we signed MY ACCOUNT over to him. My husband went in before his deployment to cancel the account because we’d be paying for something he would not be using. They again SAID IT WAS DONE HAD HIM SIGN SOME THINGS, said they’d send him a confirmation email that his account was canceled! Then I get charged $19.99! I have to call up there because, I’m in Florida. I now find out they never switch my account into his name even though we BOTH WALKED IN, and I physically watched my husband sign something, and had the woman reassure me it was done! Then she said there was no proof that he ever went in there, and canceled the account because there was no account canceled! So she states she can’t give me my money back, for a membership I clearly cannot use due to complications during my pregnancy! Not to mention their customer service sucks, and their employees are rude! I highly recommend getting physical copies every time you go up there to cancel your membership, or change anything on...
Read moreI had preemptively tried to cancel this member ship in March 2020 for the April renewal...of course I was told I had to do in person. And jad to wait until April. But Covid hit and gyms closed. I tried to email and call to keep being told I had to go in....of course I would have to wait until gyms opened. I asked if my account could be tagged to cancel. Of course that didn't happen and now my bank account just got an annual membership fee pulled from my account. Thanks, now my finances for the next week are all messed up. I will be charged an overdraft fee and possibly have 2 other drafts rejected due to that. I have been on hold now for about 30 minutes. I do not believe I should have to come in due to the circumstances. I order groceries online even to pick up. The last few places I want to be are a hospital, physicians office, and a gym. I do not understand how this cannot be handled over phone or online via email and electronic signature. I am sure as soon as someone responds to my 30+minute "eternal ignore" status, I will be told again to come in. So I can stand in line, 6 feet apart, with a mask (and I have breathing issues) for who knows how long to either be told that the annual fee is non refundable or it will take at least 10 business days for a...
