This place is very good, now before you ask if it's so good why give the service only 4 stars. We'll, let's start there first , we went during lunch today, which is a Sunday. The place was not busy at all as the staff did their jobs well, but they were rather slow to start. I mean, we waited a little while before we service as we were hoping for. People on a date would love this as it allows more time to decide what you want and to talk. We are married and were hungry .. We talked on the way there, and we're ready to eat 😋.
That's the only issue, and that's not a real issue, honestly. The food was out really quick when we did order, and the server from then on was amazing. He was quick with drinks 🍸 and anything else we needed. This is a Mexican place, so be prepared to hear festive Mexican music 🎶. It was not loud or nerve-racking. It was perfect. The most amazing thing is that we forgot our to go box, and the waiter ran us down to make sure we had it. Like I said, we were hungry, and when we finished, we were worn out. The meal was really cheap compared to other places we had been. Only cost $25 for us two, and we both had tea and lemonade . Also, my wife had shrimp and rice mix with queso cheese 🧀. Can't remember the name. I have fried rice with fries 🍟 a quesadilla, and a beef burrito. The food was definitely delicious 😋 and I dont know if you want to bring babies as it's mostly booths.. There are some tables, but either way, you will have a great time with a great...
Read moreMy husband and I came here to grab a quick bite. My food was pretty good, but it was only saved by the amount of cheese sauce to give everything else in the dish some sort of flavor. My husbands steak fajita dish was HORRIBLY BLAND and he asked for fries as a side and got refried beans instead - not a big deal with the side dish. But we brought up the issue to the waiter and all was offered was hot sauce and queso cheese (which I suggested since it seemed confusing). At this point, it had completely turned my husband off from eating it period and he didn’t touch it. Our waiter avoided coming to our table for awhile. We were not argumentative at all, but nothing really was offered to make it right and we we’re still charged for food he tried to send back and never ate. I would’ve given our score a better result had the restaurant been more considerate in making it right and had our waiter not left us sitting there for a long period of time waiting to leave. He was a great waiter until we mentioned my husbands food being bland and I just wish he wouldn’t have avoided us…that was a real bummer to us. We would consider coming back if these issues are corrected and fixed - if not, we most...
Read moreWow. Finally a restaurant in Havelock that has flavor!! We went here expecting the same boring Mexican food that Havelock seems to love, only to be shocked at the actually authentic items they serve. I got the huaraches, with pastor and habaneras sauce. The meat is tender and sweet, covered in onions, cilantro and the sauce. On the side was pickled onion/hot peppers to put on top and they were actually kind of spicy and tangy. The rice has veggies which I don't care for BUT the flavor is perfect, it tastes tomatoey and not just like greasy rice at other Mexican places. The beans are just black beans(not refried) but they are the bomb with a little bit of their spicy salsa. Ask for the spicy salsa-it's smoky and actually hot and you'll want to put it on everything. We ordered chicharones, sadly they weren't the meaty ones you get at delis back home but they were still good.
All in all this place is good for the area because they have enough on their menu for those who are used to watered down Mexican dishes and those want actual Mexican dishes. This is the first place in Havelock I've genuinely been excited to go back to because...
