Give this man in this one-man business a raise! And an iPad (instead of his old school binder) for his tour! Keith deserves it! We thought this was a library-run program since the walk starts at the Kihei Public Library but it's just him! The content he shared gathered lots of information from locals, local experts, and touring specialists (botanists, historians, etc.) to really give a thoughtful guide to Kihei. Things we would never thought to look at or even understood as we toured the island made more sense with the information he shared (monkeypod trees, navy seal training island, signs representing the land distributions in the past, the fishing shrine foundation). If you want to learn some of the culture, this was it! Dogs are also welcomed (we were surprised since big city walking tours we've been on did not allow dogs). Our group was small 6 when it should have been 15. Don't cancel on the free walking tour!...
Read moreWe had such a great time on this walking tour! I went with my family — including our 4-month-old baby — and was so happy with how accessible the route was, even with a stroller. While there were a few grassy areas, our stroller handled them just fine.
What really stood out was how informative and thoughtfully curated the tour was. Keith clearly puts in a lot of research and shares not only historical facts but also personal stories from people in the community, which made everything feel much more meaningful. I also appreciated how he remembered little details about the people in our group and tied them into the stories he told — such a thoughtful touch!
It’s amazing that he’s offering this experience not just for visitors but also for locals who want to deepen their connection with the island....

Our guide, Keith, was awesome, sharing cool tales about Kihei’s past that made it all feel so real. It’s one thing to read about history, but hearing it from someone who knows and loves the area makes it way more interesting.
One of the best parts? The personal stories! Our guide connected us to specific spots in a way that felt super special, like we were getting the inside scoop on the town.
And the best part? It’s totally free! You can’t beat a chance to soak up Kihei’s culture without spending a dime. Overall, the Maui walking tour is a fantastic way to dive into the heart of Kihei....
