This is the telescope that was first built to support the Voyager missions, Voyager 1 is currently 14.1 billion miles from Earth, It's moving at a speed of approximately 38,000 miles per hour! It also provides continued support to planetary, solar neighborhood, and deep space applications. What a feat to communicate with such accuracy and distance. At least 50% of the observing time is devoted to planetary science.

Above the Clouds at almost 14,000 ft! They only allow 4x4 vehicles after the visitor center to climb to the summit. You'll also want to spend about 45 minutes @ visitor center to acclimate to the elevation before you begin your trip to the summit.

Favorite place to check out while in Hawaii. Would not recommend coming if feeling ill. It gets pretty hard to breathe because of the 12,300ft altitude.

Polina: Why are you so interested in the matter of plastics? Carmen: I think that plastic as a material is underrated and people only get to see the bad side. When plastic was just discovered and made, people were overwhelmed by the opportunities of the material. It is cheap, flexible and you can shape it in every way you want. Now we are living in the period of time that this good side turned into a focus on the harmful side of the material. It is everywhere, it is litter and it does not decay as fast as we want it to. I used the fact of slow decay in combination with data preservation. There is a big chance that our data will get lost in the future. Look at your hard drive from 10 years ago, you can’t even link it to your current computer anymore. Technology is evolving too fast. I am suggesting options to preserve data in a materialistic way for a future where we need the data, but our technology can’t...

One of the best experiences in my life time. The sunset at 13750 ft is beyond imagination. The bare-eyed stargazing was magical to say the least. You will never forget seeing the Milky Way in so much detail, and the shooting stars made it even more amazing. Be warned the thin oxygen is no joke - you feel it after several hours, and it took half the next day to be back...
