Route 66 Auto Center — Local services in Helendale

Called Monday said smog guy be there Wednesday send wife Wednesday said Sam will be there Thursday get appt and no sam told the wife he will be there Friday and his wife Marleen is in the hospital. I call ask for John and all he says is that Sam will be here tomorrow like every call before and hangs up call back and just hangs up bad service doesn’t seem like a reliable Shop.

Reply to below why would I work with you guys after waiting and getting mislead. I understand about the family emergency but Wednesday it could of been explained and for sure after my wife made the appointment for Thursday at least called in the morning so that we didn’t wait around again. When I called the shop today and as for John he said Sam will be here tomorrow and hung up. Call back pick up then hangs up. Called a third time to cancel appointment for Friday and was told he was busy so called a shop in Barstow in and out 15 mins tops great service tired to use a local business but didn’t workout wouldn’t recommend never used with the old owners but the new people there need some training in customer service. Also if you would like me to come in and speak with you after Sam and Marleen are back and recover from the surgery I would be happy to give you all the details of my experience with the shop. Dec 2018, driving home from Mammoth... a bit tired after 3 days skiing... radiator hose let go near 395/shadow mtn road. USSA, my ins carrier, got the tow truck out there within 30 minutes and arranged for RT 66 garage to handle repair... This whole experience could have been a nightmare... instead it became such a super positive experience I call USSA back to thank them for hooking me up with such good people. The driver was a hoot, friendly and proud of his community, Helendale, which I'd never heard of and I've been driving 395 for nearly 60 years! The mechanic was ready to start work as soon as we got there. Not only replacing the hose but properly flushing the system …. friendly, professional and he had a cool shop dog to boot. 30-40 minutes later, after paying the inexpensive bill, I was on my way... my faith in humanity rejuvenated... Thank you Rt. 66 Garage... ...

I called to make a smog check appointment for my mom's car a 91' Toyota last week. They told me to have my mom bring it in this past Tuesday as their machine was ready and calibrated. She went and was turned away. They told her that he can't smog check it since it's registered down the hill. I couldn't believe it so I called him and the owner tried to feed me some mumbo jumbo reason that I can't even explain but main reason was due to where the car is registered and age of car. We took this car to that establishment three years ago and no issue. I do not recommend or will I go there due to his poor professionalism. I'm here in Victorville and they are doing the job. So Route 66 Auto Center lied to me...
