I operate a small animal rescue and it has been an absolute struggle for the last year or two to try to find a nice quality Orchard or Timothy hay bale that I can feed to guinea pigs simply because most of the Bales are dried out and Sun bleached which is not suitable for guinea pigs since they require fresh green soft hay. I was so happy to find beautiful Orchard hay bales just as green and smelling amazing as you could ever want. All the little ones are so happy and I've got several of my guinea pigs actually asleep face first in their hay it's the cutest thing ever they went into little food comas LOL. I do also want to add that when I called before I went there to ask about the types of hay and stock and if any of it was green the person that answer the phone was very patient and answered all of my questions without getting irritated. I found this to be very refreshing since usually when I call any place to ask a question I am typically met with irritation impatience and lack of knowledge by the person answering the phone. When I arrived to purchase my habeal the gentleman who actually got behaved down for me was very patient and didn't seem to mind at all when I asked him to please check and make sure that the bill he was picking up was soft to the touch and I explain that it was for guinea pigs not horses or cows and that they get poked by sharp pay it can actually blind them poking them in the eye things like that and he was very understanding and had no problem at all checking for me. I also asked him if he would mind wrapping the hay bale in a tarp which I provided so that I could put it in the backseat of my vehicle and again he assisted me with no complaints and a very pleasant and helpful attitude which is so refreshing. I just find the last year that customer service has been terrible almost everywhere I go and it's a joy to go somewhere where the people are not only helpful but they seem to be happy with their jobs or else they're just being very pleasant toward customers either way it's a nice experience and I'm very grateful for it. I will definitely be going back when I have more time to browse through the inside of the store to see what all they carry since I do have a rescue and I'm always in need of supplies and food for multiple species of animals. I look forward to being a...
Read moreWent here last night because hours are posted that they are opened until 6PM which is also clearly written on the building itself in big numbers. My Dad and I arrived around 4:50 and the door was closed the gate was shut but not locked so we thought they closed the big door in front because of the rain and cold weather. Nope the guy comes out and says we are closed. I told him I just needed some chicken feed and he said sorry but the computers are already turned off. I'm sorry I have worked at a company and I know it is not that hard to turn the computer on and help a customer and reconcile my drawer especially when you still have an hour and ten minutes left on your shift. So I said it says on the internet and on your building that you are open until 6PM which at that time another employee had walked up (beer in hand) and said "Not tonight were not". So my Dad and I got back in the car and I got on my phone and started looking for another feed store. In the meantime 2 other vehicles pulled up and the guys told them they were closed and flagged them off. The employees then got into their on vehicles and left. In the meantime at least 3 other cars pulled into the parking lot. That's a lot of business to lose out on. But the good part is I found Diamond B Hay and Feed on the same street as J&K just 2 stops signs away they were open as late as their hours said but the best part was the customer service. The girl behind the counter was so helpful and friendly as was the guy who loaded our car. From now on I will go to Diamond B Hay and Feed...
