Upon entry to the store, my family of 5 along with my sister's family of 3 made our way to the return counter to return some items that were purchased for my kids to exchange only for correct sizes. I returned a pair of girls shoes, a pair of boys athletic pants, a boy's camo t-shirt, and I also attempted to return a $36 girls winter coat and a pair of boys socks. Both items were rejected...the coat, I was told, could not be returned because there were not any tags on the item. The same was said for the pack of socks because the barcode was drawn over with a black marker. I went on to explain that these were items given to my children by an anonymous donor that chose them out of several children, but the bags we received the items in were Target shopping bags, and I had already checked online and in store to be sure these were current products. So, because of a policy that I have never heard of or read anywhere online, the items could not be accepted to be exchanged for the same items in the correct sizes. The good heart of the donor went wasted in this case, unfortunately, due to the lack of compassion and/or humanity of the High Point, NC Target location. What I once thought was a great company, quickly revealed that it's policies and employees do not even have enough customer care instilled in them to simply walk over to the boys' and girls' sections of the store to grab a pack of socks and coat that had the right price/tags to allow us to exchange the coat and socks that my kids were blessed with. Instead, they can't even use them due this one policy. To throw salt on the wound, we were followed throughout the entire store for the next hour and a half we were shopping in the store. As we checked out, literally 9 employees surrounded us and we used the two self checkout terminals to make our purchases, not requiring assistance! Both my own family and my sister purchased over $100 on each of our purchases. It was the worst experience in Target but also in any store EVER!!! UNFORTUNATELY, WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS Target and possibly any Target ever again. I hope that upper management, or even the corporate office will at least have the courtesy to reach out to us. We instill in our children to not only work hard for the money you spend for things you want, and most importantly not to judge others under any circumstance.i hope that this was just a simple misunderstanding, or bad day in regards to the customer care...or lack there of...that was shown...
Read moreI took my 18 month old daughter shopping for boots today. At a very young age, she is a shoe diva and very particular about her shoes. We spent around 20 minutes in the shoe section picking out the perfect boots. Finally, she found the pair she liked. We giggled and were overjoyed with our mother daughter shoe shopping experience. Around the corner, came my husband and I died laughing because I knew he would hate the unicorn furry boots she had selected. We walked around the store shopping for other items we need, and lastly we go to the check out line. I was so excited and I couldn't wait to shoe off the shoes my daughter had picked for herself. The shoes rang up and were placed in the bag. All items scanned and I saw our total and then my husband took out his card to pay. Next thing I know, the register read DO NOT SALE THIS ITEM. The cashier began laughing and saying the boots had been recalled and she removed them from our shopping bag. I stood there mouth open. She then grabbed the self check out cashier who read the receipt she printed out stating the item was recalled and she said sorry we can't sell you these. I asked why and all they said was they are not told why items are recalled. The original cashier then grabbed an assistant manager who came over to say the same thing and I asked why again. All employees found this amusing, my heart was breaking, I had had this beautiful memorable moment with my daughter and it had just been stolen from me and all these women could say is we can't sell this to you. I grabbed my daughter and walked out of the store, my husband paid for the other items and met us in the car. I swore to him I would never go back to Target. Hours later after cooling off, I thought if I had been that assistant manager I would have offered to find a similar pair of shoes or offered the customer a discount on any other pair of boots. The only thing the assistant manager guaranteed me was that she would go and remove all of the remaining boots. And then asked me if I knew if there were more of the same boots on the shelf. I do not work for target and clearly someone did not do their job. Your shoe section is a cluster of chaos. I do not care if you remove them; you broke my heart and ruined such a beautiful moment between my daughter and I. Empathy does not exist at your stores. Their reaction to me was negative and they...
Read moreCame shopping here with my mom yesterday, used to come here all the time and it was always a pleasant experience but I no longer live in the area so it’s been a while. Went to self check out although I wished I would’ve went to an actual cashier as I’m sure it would’ve been a better experience, I had a gift card I thought had 16$ on it, self check out asked for the card balance I wasn’t sure how to check that so my mom asked the older woman doing self check out if there was anyway to check and she scanned it for me and said it had 2.41$, I looked at my mom surprised and said “there’s no way” and for some reason this woman thought I was talking to her, she gave me a snobby look and said “well that’s what it said” I laughed cause I didn’t think she really thought I was saying she took the money off the card, I said “I’m sorry I wasnt saying anything about you” and she turned her nose up and walked away.. turns out I had the wrong gift card and that was an older one so I was just confused. I’m 7 months pregnant and very obviously so, I guess pregnancy brain has become real, but I had struggled to find myself an affordable bra, I had the gift card from my dad buying me some maternity clothes a while back and was going to use it to pay for the bra that’s why I was so surprised when I thought I had somehow spent the rest of the money since I was saving it for an occasion like this. Not sure why a target employee felt so inclined to be rude to someone who clearly wasn’t saying about anything to them or about them, I wished I would’ve gotten her name cause she really doesn’t have the attitude to be working customer service and should maybe retire if dealing with the public makes...
