We went of Friday night for a birthday dinner it was a party of 8. our waiter was Logan and the front of the house Manager was Lynn. We have been here a couple of times and service was decent food was ok. nothing to get overly excited about. But after our last experience there we will no longer recommend or dine Gianni's any more. I have been in restaurant industry for over 10 years so I understand you get over whelmed. but Logans attitude when we order more drinks or asked for something was I am done with this table or some times followed by rolling his eyes and he was in the weeds and never asked for help. he never took away dirty plates from appetizers and bread plates. there was 6 empty bread baskets and stacks of cups from our teas he would just bring a glass still siting on the table. If you have been a server you know to pre buss your table so you have room to eat your main course. one person found a hair in her pasta the manager dropped a slice of pizza off the plate on the floor, I understand things happen but none of those things where on us. I understand you get behind refilling drinks and bread baskets but we all know that's part of serving. I added crab meat to my create you own pasta. a 6.00 uncharge there was hardly any crab and was burnt like I got the scrapings from a crab cake that was previously made. when I let them know the manager came over when I let her know she spoke so rudely. and said there was crab in the dish. when she never visually verified and argued with me about the uncharge yes I said it was 10 when it was 6. but you do not talk to the customer with an attitude. oh and we where very patient with the server and tried to save him trips. we went through our whole meal with empty glasses probably because he could not see them due to all the empty glasses on the table. and we asked for several things that never made it to the table some asked...
Read moreThere is something comforting in the familiarity of a local mid-range Italian place, and while Giannos is hardly the pinnacle thereof, it does fit the bill nicely, offering a good assortment of pizzas and pastas at fairly reasonable prices.
Should you go, timing can make a big difference in how your meal turns out. The lunch menu keeps most offerings under $10 and features the pizza/salad bar whereas the dinner menu bumps prices entrée pricing into the teens (salad included), but there’s a tradeoff. My wife and I stopped by between 12 and 1 on a Tuesday, which ended up being the thick of the lunch rush. It was very loud, and staff seemed beleaguered (though our server, Faith, did an excellent job despite the calamity). Once the crowd thinned out and conversation actually became possible, the environment was reasonably comfortable.
My wife opted for the pizza/salad buffet while I went with shrimp scampi and a Caesar salad. At $8.29 and $9.59 ($8.59 + $1 for the salad), both were quite affordable. Of course, “you get what you pay for” is in effect here, but at that price point, things could have turned out a lot worse. While bowtie pasta was a puzzling choice (theirs, not mine) for the scampi, the dish was otherwise very enjoyable: creamy and generously portioned with a nice lemon note in the sauce. A basket of fresh, warm rolls hit the spot as well. On the other hand, the dressing that accompanied the salad was closer to a ranch than a Caesar, and my wife found the pizza to be nothing special.
Given the type of cuisine and the quality of the service, Giannos merits a return visit when a pasta craving hits. But if the parking lot is ever three-quarters full, come back...
Read moreMy husband, Tim and I had the pleasure of dining at Giannos. Additionally, Dave Nicoletta and the staff of Giannos Catering and Special Events catered our wedding at the Bella Collina Mansion. The restaurant has numerous menu options, aside from the traditional Italian dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed the NY Strip Steak with Scallops during our dine in experience. The portion sizes were plentiful and, the garden salad was prepared with fresh, crispy vegetables- not pre-prep bagged vegetables. The Saturday we dined in, the service staff were quite busy so, it took a little while to get service but, we were patient. At our wedding reception, we selected grilled chicken breasts with bourbon BBQ sauce, parmesan potatoes, green beans and soft rolls. We sampled these items during our initial catering meeting with Dave and we enjoyed them. Our selections were a hit! Our guests enjoyed their meals and complimented Dave and his staff. We had mini-burgers for the cocktail hour. Although we did not sample them, we received mixed feedback from our guests about the mini-burgers; at best, the reports were satisfactory. Overall, we had a very good experience with Giannos through our dine in meal and at our wedding reception. We will definitely dine in at Giannos in the...
