I was lied to at Ft Thomas Jewelers, and they lied to me with a smile on their face. I bought a loose diamond and took it to Ft Thomas jewelers to have it set into an engagement ring. I bought a very expensive 1.8 carat GIA VVS1 with an “excellent” cut and symmetry grade somewhere else and brought it here to have it set. The quality of the workmanship on the setting was far from acceptable. It was crooked in the setting and they claimed it was because my diamonds cut quality was inferior. I took it to Herzog (also not where I bought the diamond) and they told me the jeweler that set the stone failed to make the proper relief cuts in the prongs when they set the diamond among several other issues with the workmanship. Not only did they not make any relief cuts (ie they made no attempt to set the diamond straight) they marred the prongs and setting in multiple places and didn’t even bother to polish those scratches out before returning the ring to the customer. I don’t know about you, but if someone hired me to make a ring, and I scratched that ring up while I was making it, I would think I would try and polish those scratches out before presenting it to the customer. I've been coming to Fort Thomas Jewelers for years and have always had a wonderful experience from Belinda and the staff, but today was extraordinarily special!! I came to them two weeks ago when my dog Snoopy passed to have a special bracelet with an urn to hold his ashes. I had the vision of it in my mind. Belinda sat down with me and opened a book of pet charms and we found this special urn, in the photo, with the paw prints. She helped me find this special urn to hold his ashes and proceeded to help me create this beautiful, very special, bracelet. Today I picked it up and it is absolutely amazing! I am so impressed with the staff and talent at Ft. Thomas Jewelers! I have had numerous item appraised with them and have total and complete faith in there ability to know what to look for. My Mom had an extremely valuable diamond that she wanted to pass down to our daughter so when it came time for it to be set for an engagement ring there was no question whom I would trust to handle it!
