I will never go there again. We had some furniture to donate. We called their phone number and followed the prompts for donations. We confirmed that if we brought furniture, that there was both space for it and that they were accepting donations. The lady on the phone said, “oh yeah, we accept furniture donations anytime we’re open.” We loaded up the truck and 20 minutes later we were pulling into the lot to drop off the items. When we pulled around to the donations area, it was 6:29. Their sign said they stopped taking donations at 6:30, despite what we were told on the phone (they said 7pm on the phone). The two squirrely-looking employees informed us that they weren’t going to take the furniture and that even if we had been there earlier in the day, they “didn’t have room for furniture.” Even when we informed them that we had called and confirmed everything prior to coming, the cold-hearted scoundrels unapologetically refused to take any of our donations. Contemporaneously, it began raining fairly heavy. We called the phone number back again, to inform them that they may want to give correct information next time someone calls, and the lily-livered employees wouldn’t even answer the phone this time — no doubt, unwilling to own up to their mistakes. Angry, and not wanting to end up with criminal charges, I just drove the furniture back to our house to sit in the truck until I have time to drive it to the dump, because it is now waterlogged and ruined.
St. Vincent de Paul himself would be rolling over in his grave if he knew how the employees at the store bearing his namesake were treating people (that is, if the Catholic church hadn’t dug his body up out of the grave twice and then encased his remains in wax and put him...
Read moreGrew up in the foster care system for years and these places were a God send to the many of my foster parents. Was able to get clothes at a reasonable price so it really helped stretch the dollar. Been shopping between this store and the one in Crescent Springs and am really disappointed in not only the company as a whole but the faces of the people they choose to represent them. Wanted to donate yesterday and found the new manager dismissive and rude. She was more interested in finding a transaction in the register as opposed to answering questions about possible donation. The pricing is another factor in these stores. I thought these places were designed to help people be able to purchase items of everyday need at a reasonable price. Instead they are outrageous. Dollar store items prices at 2 and 3 dollars. Clothes prices out of the reach of affordability for families. I saw picture frames priced higher than Kohls. The funny part is Kohls is running them cheaper with its current sale. Price gouging people who are just trying to have the basics. Let’s not forget that this company is profiting off of donations. Furniture, clothes and other items giving by very generous people. I’ve seen my own donated items priced ridiculous. St Vincent DePaul. Please change your ways. Please consider also the people you choose to be the face of your company. Consider sensitivity training for your management. Everyone is going through transition right now and money for all of us is a factor. Try not to take advantage of people who are just...
Read moreI want to edit my review. See below... I went back 5/14/25 and I want to be fair. Prices storewide were better. It was Senior Day and they actually had some items on sale in addition to that. I didnt see broken items with high prices. I didn't leave empty handed. Other Seniors had carts too. I spent about $50. Keep it up St. V. All we ask is fair prices. ORIGINAL REVIEW: "Was a wonderful place. Open, spacious, fun shopping experience at reasonable prices. In last month, things have drastically changed.... Crowded with clothes merchandise soon as you walk in the door. Some prices have doubled others have tripled. Two ladies walked out empty handed before me. A regular asked me what was going on? Said it was first time she ever left empty handed. I answered: New Mgmt. I left empty handed 20 mins later. This is why I no longer shop Crescent Spring/Covington or the Florence store. Owners won't notice. Bottom line will still show profit with fewer customers paying more $$$, it all evens out for them on mechandise they got free. There are still some deals, it's just going to cost more. No joy in it if you're low on cash. Thrifting has become both trendy and popular. I think St. V now looks up Ebay "asking" prices and charges accordingly. Ebay "asking" is not the same as what things actually "sell" for on Ebay. I even donate elsewhere now. I want people to get my stuff at reasonable prices when I donate it. Owners won't notice til the trend is over. Right now they are riding high $$$ on the...
