Jed's Hardware, Garden, & Rental Center — Local services in Holden

I"m a supporter of local small businesses and have always gone to Jeds. With the pandemic in March, I totally understood that things could slightly be different.

But it's mid June and Jeds is stubborn about items purchased not being able to be returned. I understood during the peak in mid April and i waited patiently. But now that its mid June, and things have opened up, I'm not sure why returns are not possible.

IF there is a concern about safety, I totally get that. Keep returns in a storage area for 14 days if need be. But the approximate $75 in returns I have would allow me to free up that credit and be used for other essentials we need.

Unfortunately, the situation has caused me to find other retailers, local. Rocky's Ace Hardware on Chandler is newly moved in and has the same feel. I've been able to purchase lawn care products and equipment and even exchange them.

Jed's is exactly the hardware store that you would imagine that a small New England town would have. Full of friendly and helpful staff, fun treasures, and reasonably priced. Jed's may not have the array of items that those big box stores have, but you will feel like family when you walk in the door. Jed's offers paint, dog food, grills, Yeti gear, clothing, and much more. Around Christmas, it's the best place to get a Christmas tree (flat fee for any tree you choose). They don't have huge trees. More small to medium in height, which works for most families anyway. In the spring, they have a huge assortment of mulch. And they now offer power tool rental which is handy in any season. Absolutely love Jed's. We try to go to Jed's before the big stores like Home Depot and Lowe's due to the fact they're our local hardware store and due to the level of service you get.

If you have any questions on how to do a task around your house, they'll explain it to you and make sure you have the tools. They'll even verify the tools work together if needed. They can help you figure out how to fix issues if you explain the problem as well.

Service is fantastic all around from the questions about your project to helping you load up anything you buy such as mulch or salt. Everyone is friendly and helpful as well.
