The deli a couple years back was so good now a days I feel like it just don't fit the nob hill standards the customer service is pretty rough around the edges im a little hard at hearing and to keep having to ask for the person helping me to speak up is a bit annoying ..point to this is my sandwich was the last straw for me I always always give them a chance but this one was it not even really a sandwich hardly any condiments (super dry i asked for two kinds only got half of 1) I asked for certain items and didn't receive them but got changed the extra fee for it ? So I mean I'm better off going back to the deli at safeway sorry. Nobhill i guess it's just ur pharmacy thats Thriving wonderfully.

Very nice store. Friendly staff and very helpful. Plenty of parking and easy to find. The Asian department has 2 of my favorite products Angelo Pietro Salad dressings and Yamasa soy sauce.

UPDATE: They just decommissioned the gluten free section. Pretty old fashioned and not very up to date for people genuinely in need.

We are tired of things just being 'no longer stocked'. So long Nob Hill.

We've loved shopping here for a couple of years now - the customer service has always been super friendly and personal, however, we've noticed a few changes over the last few months.

Perhaps it is the increasing population of Hollister overall, and maybe this is happening everywhere, but we are finding we are having to go elsewhere to meet our needs. Items are often not stocked for days, sometimes specifics are not on the shelf for weeks! Twice now, in as many weeks, we have taken home perishable items with past due dates and mold inside. I shouldn't have to check!

Even local food product lines have been dropped! C'mon people.

Fresh produce items sell quickly or sub par items are left over on the shelf, perhaps for that exact reason.

I really feel Hollister is being left behind. We are a HUGE community with almost zero supporting infrastructure and an exploding population of people who enjoy quality and gourmet foods.

The staff here are so wonderful, but I think it is time for Nob Hill, as a business, to invest in our community as they have in surrounding counties and allow us to shop better through you.

Thank you to the lovely staff who...

It's a great store and the people are really nice and it's usually stocked very well and very clean. I only complaint is the deli. The guys they have making the sandwiches are so so slow! They don't work with urgency and then they will stop and talk to people or the other people. There's usually four or five people in the deli and one person working the counter. So the same person who is doing the sandwiches is slicing the meat Then you have someone else working on the floor then someone else doing packaging one person doing sushi and then just one person doing the sandwiches and the slicing the meat usually maybe two if you're lucky. But whoever's in the back due in the packaging or the manager who's looking at her clipboard seems to always be talking to the sandwich maker and he's taking a long time to make a sandwich every time I'm in there and then you have to wait for that person to get done making a sandwich to get something on the other side with the meats and cheeses but then someone else comes up with a slip for a sandwich so they're just making sandwiches making sandwiches who's helping this guy in the deli case?! I think you should have whoever's there possibly put down what they're doing and try to help these people out. It's...

I was initially hesitant to write this review, but I feel like it's kinder to be honest. I used to love coming here, and then once in the past year I went in and this employee came out of nowhere and asked me if I needed any help, to which I said, "No, I'm good" or something similar. Then this other customer, an older lady asked him a question and he just brushed her off. It seemed ageist. You shouldn't be giving preferential treatment to certain customers if you want to retain them. That's not good business. I feel like people here didn't understand customer service. Also, there was this Team Leader who had this haunted look to him -- he once helped pay for my stuff which was extremely generous of him, but then when I went to return a milk bottle (you can exchange it for cash/they recycle it for you), he rudely shoved the cash into my hands -- he was pretty pissed off about something, and the other staff person was really stressed out and said, "Is this what you want?!!" which is a sign of people-pleasing. I hope they're doing okay by now. But wow. That was some appallingly bad juju. I haven't gone back since. Maybe it's better by now. When I used to be a cashier clerk, I had never seen...
