I'm so glad that this review came up again, especially since the rating shown was one that I would never have given Holly Foods. The one seeming head cashier for so many years has always been verbally abusive to customers on general principles and in specific. The employement practises of the owner is illegal and I'm surprised that 1. It's able to keep employees (but might help explain general attitudes, 2. It hasn't been shut down. Some grocery items are discontinued due to lack of interest, but the layout of the store leaves much to be desired in that it's difficult to find things and most employees don't know either. The new store manager this past year has made a lot of good; it's definitely most unfortunate that he is leaving as well. There is one bright spot in the store, and that is the Meat Department Manager. He is a very kind man who is always happy to see us and converse with us.
We have been patronising Kroger across town ever since it opened the additional location. We like it very much, save the few minutes' longer drive. The selections are much better as well as the prices. Employees are most helpful with little exception. Organic food selections, bounty and pricing is much better. It would have been very nice if Kroger had gone up in Holly.
As for the remainder of the plaza itself, the shops, there really isn't much that I need there. It would be really nice if the Redbox kiosk were set up better...the flap does very little to no good at all, and the card reader is so often on the fritz. Tom's Coney Island is now Mike's, and I only hope that they will have the insight to keep the one brand of "hot dogs", since my husband won't go any longer if it changes. Navigating the parking lot isn't great, and trying to get out into the road is not at all easy. Goodwill has the poorest quality clothing of any I've patronised and most of the staff have not a clue what they're doing nor do they seem to care whatsoever and is quite unfortunate. The music played is very, very loud and the genre isn't conducive to getting people to actually stay and shop. There's a McDonald's in the parking lot, but I had been waiting for far too long for a Burger King...now I don't care. Down the road is a Subway, which is the much more healthful choice, and there's a Wendy's as well. I do avoid "fast food" as much...
Read moreHolly Foods has got to be the worst place to get groceries! Countless number of times I find moldy produce! Things go bad and management is bad so they donât care! Today I come in and buy my groceries and I find out that they overcharge me on not one, but two produce items! I wait about 10 minutes for line to clear, so I can address this with the woman who works service desk! Michigan State law states that for pricing errors that happen the store is responsible for paying you for the mistake they owe you, plus 10 times the difference on that mistake! The maximum you could get is $5 plus the difference they owe you! She argues with me back and forth then calls the lousy manager and they both refused. They only ended up paying me the difference, but not the bounty! DO NOT GO HERE! GO ElSEWHERE! Bad management, bad owner, expired produce, overpriced items, and...
Read moreThis market needs to close. Everyone knows it closes at 8 pm every night. My wife and son came in on Sunday night just before close to pick up some taco sauce from this high price dump of a market. Soon as they walked in. The rude employee behind the service desk says to them in Rude voice. 7 mins. It was quick stop to pick up sauce. If you are open still you have to wait for the customer to get done and again everyone knows they close at 8 pm.
You should be very lucky you have a job and not be saying to everyone that comes in just before close to them 7 mins. It's retail plain and simple. This place needs to close and all you rude employees that say such things would have to stand in unemployment line. If it was not for your customers you would not have a job at all...Grow up. OH...
