I booked my son’s first birthday in their banquet room. Booking was easy as it was done over the phone. We chose the Villager Buffet as our meal option, but were not given any details except that it was 10.95 per person as it states on the website. There was no booking fee or deposit. Upon arrival to the restaurant I double checked the pricing and billing with our waitress. I asked what the price is for children (as it is not listed anywhere) and how it worked if some people attending the party did not want to eat. I was informed that since I made the booking for 35 people, the restaurant had to be paid for at least that many people so if some did not eat that was fine as long as they got their 35 person guarantee. I was also informed that children under 10 were free. It turned out that I had 45 people show up, and exactly 10 who did not eat so it should have worked out perfectly. I also had guests with children have their kids eat based on the premise that they were free, who otherwise would not of had them eat as they had given them a meal just two hours before. In the middle of our meal, the waitress came back and said she had spoken to the owner and every person who walked through the door had to pay whether they had eaten or not, and children were 6.95. Needless to say at the end of the party I had to pay much more than I was initially told. Additionally the buffet had already been cleared of the leftover food when I was advised of the change, so the people who hadn’t eaten were not even able to make a plate since they had to pay for it regardless. It was very unorganized and seemed like they were making rules as they went. We were advised that all of this was listed on the website. 3 people from our party searched the website and found nothing except the 10.95 per person pricing. Nothing on kids pricing and nothing stating that each person who came had to pay regardless of whether they ate. When confronted with this information the waitress said “well I don’t know why it isn’t on the website, it used to be.” Overall very unsatisfied, and will not be booking any sort of party there or patronizing them...
Read moreAlthough I've been here numerous times the staff tries pretty hard but it seems to be finding a Synergy between quality and the food overall presentation and maybe a little missing heart and soul. It's not a super expensive place so it's hard to argue you are getting what you pay for but being a privately owned local business one would feel that they would strive really hard to make themselves stand out and shine brighter than all the rest of the competition. Unfortunately last night was not one of our better experiences there Frozen ice cubes with what appeared to be grains of pepper Frozen within them and additional glass of water with an actual small bug or might of some sort inside of it numerous pieces of lettuce in the salad that were brown or black and part of my son's order ended up missing and did not get it until he was done eating his main meal. I will be the first to point out that they were very nice I did not charge us for the item that was left behind and took 10% off the bill bring to our attention that they strive to be a good restaurant and they understand that they kind of fell behind the 8-ball a little bit. Which was thoughtful and well-placed and we will continue to go because of...
Read moreTerrible service, the waitress was extremely rude. Aside from the German tomato soup and my moms club sandwich all the other food was pretty gross, boxed mashed potatoes, frozen hamburger patties, dry overcooked smothered chicken everyone in our group Said they wouldn't be returning. I don't know if they changed owners or are just cutting corners but it's definitely not the same villagers I remember growing up:(
