Aina Haina Shopping Center — Local services in Honolulu

Cake Couture!! I've driven 20 miles just for the cupcakes at Cake Couture! They were my secret weapon in my last job to use with reluctant or stubborn staff, and anytime I had to break news I knew would be unpopular. Besides the mind blowing gourmet cupcakes (that may just contain crack), the shopping center also has Chuckie Cheese, Foodland, McDonald's and a variety of other places to eat. [UPDATE: NO MORE CHUCKIE CHEESE'S HERE..😟]. There's a Long's Drugs just nextdoor--(i’m not sure it's actually in the shopping center or not but it's definately close enough to be considered part of it). One end of the shopping center is anchored by a gas station, and the opposite end is held by the unassumingly lovely Aina Hina Public Library....

A visit to one of Aina Haina Shopping Center's eateries is what brought us here, specifically Pieology. And what a delish place it was! Back to the subject, AHSC is a simple, outdoor strip mall with lots of free parking, and easy access from the main road. A dreary, protected lanai serves as food court seating.

OVERALL: Other than being a "convenience" mall to the small communities on Oahu's east end, there'd be no reason to come here as the tenant list consists mostly of businesses that can be found elsewhere on the island, sans for Pieology and local restaurants, and is definitely not a shopper's paradise.

There is some good specialty shops popping up in the Aina Haina Shopping Center.

However the problem has and always has been parking. There's simply not enough and on a Friday around lunchtime people are literally spilling out into the surrounding neighborhoods to find parking.

They can cram all of the nice restaurants they want in this place but it's not going to solve the parking issue and some restaurants in evitable e not going to do as well..

The redeeming quality of this place is once you do eventually find a parking stall the Foodland has...
