The best place in Kaimuki #bikini #kaimuki #keepitsimple #zerowaste #sustainablebrands

I LOVE this store! A few friends told me about it since they knew I was into sustainability but I’ve already returned a couple of times since discovering it! It’s a very unassuming store in Kaimuki, sandwiched between a Thai restaurant and a nail salon. I love the variety of things you can have ā€œrefilledā€ that is measured by the ounce instead of buying new personal care products that inevitably come in plastic (such as big spray, lotion, soap, serums, etc). They also carry a good amount of daily products like kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff (sustainable floss, toothbrushes, mouth wash, shampoo bars). I also appreciate the locally made things AND a little free section where you can also bring your containers to donate. Price seems reasonable for the category. My only suggestions would be to: 1) consider expanding your product selection maybe to even include food items that can be weighed and purchased, and 2) I would LOVE to be able to bring my beauty products to recycle here… I would even collaborate with the store or other customers on this. Brands such as the Ordinary, L’Occitane, and Nordstrom have programs (on the Mainland) that allow for anyone to bring any brand’s empty containers to recycle, but unfortunately we do not have this here in Hawaii. It would be amazing if we did..

My favorite zero waste store on island so far. A little pricey, but worth it for good quality products šŸ‘ŒšŸ½ I recommend a stop in for sure, even if zero waste is foreign to you. This is a great place to dip your feet in the eco friendly blow up pool 😊

I wish I could give this place 1,000 stars. This is definitely a biased review, but who cares. The Keep it Simple Store & Team seriously is the coolest group of people with the best mission. The entire concept of their store is genius & exactly what Hawai'i needs. I am so lucky to be able to showcase my swimwear here, along with so many other talented designers, artists & creators that they feature in their shop.

When you step into their store, you can see that so many items are locally made or handmade by other small businesses. Last time I was there I got some of their cucumber mint Sky Kombucha on tap & the owner Hunter was so patient with me explaining how to do everything while I was literally spilling liquid all over the place. All the employees always look like they're having the best time smiling & laughing or making tiktoks. Such a happy work environment with the best products out there. If you stop anywhere while strolling around Kaimuki, don't miss...

Keep It Simple is essential for my personal life and business. I can always trust that I’m getting great products that are safe for my body and the environment. My clients go crazy for the products we use at my business, and always feel relieved knowing it’s all non-toxic.

Not only is the cleanliness of every inch of my house entirely dependent on KIS products, just about every personal item I use can be refilled here. Top it off by tempting me with bikinis and jewelry? I’d love to.

I’ve learned so much from the owners and staff both in person and through their social media. The best part is I can sleep peacefully knowing I am supporting incredible local business owners and not Ama$$on

Do yourself a favor...
