Kaimuki Ace Hardware — Local services in Honolulu

One of the best purchase experiences of my life! Couldn’t be more pleased or impressed!!

A week or so ago, I went to Ace Hardware on Wailae, in Kaimuki, specifically to purchase a Makita electric lawnmower that I was looking for. I was told the had them on sale. What a deal- $600 off, and it was in stock. I was already pleased, but then came the exceptional customer service. Tyler Zane, the manager was helping ( I think train) a cashier at the register. Ring up the sale. He also then encouraged me to get an Ace Rewards account, since this purchase alone would make me eligible for perks. Another assistant was gathering all off the parts and brochure for the new mower, and yet another assistant brought me out to the parking lot to show the features and operation of the mower, before helping me load it in my truck.

Now is the really good part, Tyler encouraged me to sign up for Makita customer account to register the mower and get another $469 in Makita accessories including a weed whacker. I could not get the Makita site to send a conformation email, even after contacting their customer support. So, on a whim, and since I was nearby, I stopped into explain, at Ace Hardware, and was encouraged to talk to Tyler again. He apologized on behalf of of Makita, and said he’d work on it. I thanked him and left. A couple hours later, he called me to say he worked with Makita’s site to set me up a new account and password. Wow!! This may be the best retail customer service experience I’ve ever had. Honolulu has many great Hardware Store options, but Ace Hardware Kaimuki, will always stand out to me for there unique, high quality selections and offerings, and this back to back A+ customer service which was well above and beyond the norm....

I think she had come outside, maybe helping someone else load she waited on us at the door as soon as my landlord Tina came in she was offering her a cart we knew what we wanted we had only came to get a weed eater as my landlord says a weed wacker and no time at all we had exactly what we wanted and was on our way everyone had happy faces and was so accommodating the atmosphere is priceless When comparing it to The Big Box store we don't ever want to lose this atmosphere support them as often as possible mahalo I am never leaving Paradise my landlord has several properties she is constantly breaking about how...

I DO NOT know a lot about hardware, but every time I need something but I don't know what I need, I leave this place feeling like superwoman with a wrench and a screwdriver.

Although this has the name of a nationwide brand "ACE" it actually feels like a local mom and pop store. The staff are friendly and never too busy to help someone like me, without talking down to me. I mean it, I ask questions and they may be rolling their eyes on the inside, but they are all smiles and help on the outside.

By the way, the people at the large home improvement stores are helpful too, but those stores are way too huge, and so far away in traffic. Kaimuki Ace is right here when I need something and I don't know...
