I had previously taken a surf lesson with a different surf company in the area. Don’t make that same mistake I did, get your lessons done at Sparky’s.

My first surf lesson at a different surf company was not a great experience. I didn’t feel super confident in my abilities afterwards even though I had progressed fairly quickly. I wasn’t given much instruction or how to read waves / things to look out for, and it overall felt like my instructor was checked out & not paying attention, kind of just pushing me into waves until my time was up. I left not feeling confident at all on going out by myself

I was kind of hesitant to surf after, but wanted to try one more time so I booked this lesson with Sparky’s and had such a more informative & fantastic experience. My instructor Mark was incredible. I told him about my pretty bad previous lesson & he helped me progress so much in just an hour. I learned more in 15 minutes with Mark than I did at my previous 2 hour lesson. He immediately helped me clean up my stance & helped me to learn to read the waves & where to focus paddling out to. You can tell he really loves surfing & is just a very good & focused instructor.

Mark was more than willing to challenge my abilities & get me in a spot to succeed and try new things. He gradually helped me advance to spotting waves & catching them fully on my own, while giving me concrete things he noticed to work on & improve for the future. This experience was so memorable! I called Sparky to get guidance on booking multiple lessons for my son’s family of 4 (this was a gift for them) 2 private lessons for tandem surfing for 5&8 yr old and a semi private for parents all at the same time. He accommodated us by scheduling his team of instructors at best time of day to achieve success. He was spot on! My son and his wife said ‘this experience exceeded all their expectations!’ My grand daughters can’t stop talking about all the fun and their confidence is soaring. All these instructors know exactly how to teach what they love to do! Do not hesitate to book Sparky and his team!!!! Everyone was standing up and riding a wave after just a short time. The 8 yr old was so at ease that instructor let her ride a wave on her own board with him riding next to her! (Not tandem) The 5 yr old was totally safe and giggling for more & more! We also had the photo package but won’t have the edited pics for about a week. I was super impressed that the pro photographer was in the water the entire time shooting photos of each of them and some posed family shots of them on boards out there near the waves.
