Hoonah Trading Company — Local services in Hoonah

We were deep in Glacier Bay National Park and our freezer goes out on our boat. Stuffed with 3 months of provisions we run all morning to Hoonah praying for a solution. In cell range we call them on a holiday weekend and they say they have 4 different sizes in stock. When we arrive we find out they are short staffed. The freezers are in the loft and the forklift is in use somewhere else. Devin comes to the rescue and man handles one down the steep ladder staircase, loans us a dolly (after offering us a ride) and we cart it down the dock to the boat. Hoonah is a beautiful area with many different sceneries. We shopped at the trading company and was amazed at the amount of items they had. There was a whale that followed us along the sidewalk to the store and put on quite a show. There is a lot to see even if you aren't planning to spend a lot of money.
