We visited the Kentucky state fair in Louisville yesterday for the first time and were not disappointed at all. This fair felt like a true state fair! It was a nice size with lots of your typical fair foods(the food was spendier than smaller fairs, but more of variety), the games were easy to win and lots of them, it is a small rides midway area connected to the fair and it costs extra to go into kentucky kingdom a ride theme park next to the midway. There were lots of english style horses (it costs extra to see them in the show in the arena), no western or big draft horses, they had big barns with lots of animals. They had more exhibit building than anything there and lots of stuff to buy. A few stages for shows. It took all day to see the fair and we had a lot of fun!    Read moreCrowd gets rowdy with adolescent and young adults later in the evening. If you take younger kids to the fair here you'll notice when it's time to start heading to the car. The atmosphere changes about 7 or 8 when the rude inconsiderate younger crowd comes on the scene. Fair itself compared to when i was younger is pathetic.
