Ben Thanh Market — Local services in Houston

I have been shopping a few times since they first opened however I am not so impressed with the service and quality of their produce. Today I just bought a few items including some bean sprout and Chinese broccoli. Everything else was in the bag except bean sprout and Chinese broccoli, called them back after I got home and found out they are missing from the bag. No one seemed to understand English and said, they will have someone calling me back. They never did call so I asked my co worker who is a Vietnamese to call, Yep, they had it there sitting at the register.

I would never recommend this place and there are plenty of Asian markets...

Chợ Bến Thành is one of those markets where you can always find something interesting if you take your time. It’s a classic Vietnamese grocery with a mix of frozen, dry goods, and fresh produce — definitely feels like home for anyone familiar with shopping at neighborhood markets.

During my last visit, I noticed a few familiar brands in the freezer section, including Chuon Chuon (Dragon Fly). Always a good feeling to see products you recognize and trust.

Large Vietinamase supermarket. Not as large as the Hong Kong market on Scarsdale. The prices are somewhat high and some of the can goods were expired or have been on the shelves a long time. Just make sure you check ✔ the sell by or caned on date. Fairly large selection of seasonal Vietinamase fruits, vegetables and herbs.
