Fifth Ward Church of Christ — Local services in Houston

Extremely edifying Church of Christ in the Fifth Ward of Houston with three Ministers, one Youth Minister, five Elders, and 17 deacons. Morning service begins promptly at 9 a.m. and Sunday morning Bible classes (for all ages) follows at 10:45 a.m. Evening service is at 6 p.m. Although Fifth Ward COC has several hundred members, the leadership has divided the church into zone numbers, based on your home address. This allows smaller groups of worshippers to gather for various fellowship events to get to know each other better. For spiritual needs, each Elder has been assigned groups of members based on the beginning letters of their last names. This allows the congregation to have a ‘contact elder’ in times of need. There are also several ministries at Fifth Ward Church of Christ where you can share your gifts the Lord has given you. You will be uplifted by the sermons, so come in person if you can. New Member..we have a wonderful tome of fellowship during service. You're not pressured to do anything if you just want to worship and take in the word from a seated position. I like that because I am not a very expressive person. I went to our Ladies Bible Class that's on Mondays at 10am. We ate the Gospel and then the Food. Both were so delicious. We have wonderful Sisters who cook with love. This was my second attendance at the Ladies Bible Class. I was disappointed that I missed last Monday's class because I was scheduled to work. I am a former member of Highland Heights COC, which in my opinion is one of the greatest congregations in Houston. After leaving HHCOC, I was in search of a congregation with strong leadership, an evangelist that preaches sound doctrine, and an environment that is conducive to spiritual growth.
