Finally decided to give up my car & trade it in on an older Mustang! I live over 3hrs away from Houston & so I called & spoke to Alex on the phone. I was VERY honest & upfront with him, I told him our credit wasnāt great, I actually gave him our scores & told him that we had a certain amount down & a trade in! I gave him specifics on my trade, he looked up the value as we spoke & told me how much value Iād have towards the car I had picked out! He knew I still owed on my current vehicle & told me it would be added to the value of the new purchase. He told me he thought he could get me approved for about the same payments as I pay now, but obviously the loan would very high because of interest & I said that was fine. He asked me to fill out the finance application online and weād get going, I told him Iād discuss it with my husband when he got home & weād get it done! The next day I called him because I had a question before finishing the application & all was good to move forward. I filled it out & turned it in, he texted & wanted the VIN & pictures of my current vehicle for trade! I did that & sent them in & requested pics of the Mustang because they had pulled it off the page before I had saved them! He never sent them the next day came & I still hadnāt heard from him about the application so I texted to see what was going on, he said heād be calling with the banker in a few & I was excited. Next thing I know, I told we didnāt get approved which sucks but the first bank approving is not unheard of! I asked him to call me so we could discuss further options, he did & thatās when I got a taste of the real Alex! He was so rude & accusatory! He made it sound like I lied about my credit score & it was like he was shocked we didnāt get approved right away! Then when I told him that Iād already told him about all this & my exact situation, he pulled the old, āI talk to hundreds of people a day & people lie about their score, so until you turn in your application none of it mattersā! First of all, why would I lie about having a bad credit score, secondly, āhaving lots of customersā is no excuse for not taking notes & treating your customers badly! He kept saying, āI was wondering why you went to Drivetime (with my current car) in the first place, itās because they take bad creditā...I went there because I live in a town of about 10,000 & thereās not many choices for used vehicles, not to mention I told him about my credit from the jump! BOTTOM LINE: The guy forgot who he spoke to, forgot all the details because he didnāt take notes, he lied to me & said he could help us when he never had any intention of doing so! He also was very rude & accusatory towards me & made me feel as though I lied to him & tried to pull a fast one on him or something...when he was the one who did the lying! Iām super upset, not that I didnāt get the car because...honestly I love my current car & Iād only trade it for a Mustang (a specific style/options)! Iām upset that this guy wasted my time & probably ruined my credit even more...but most of all Iām mad that he treated me like I was a liar and didnāt deserve to try and get this Mustang! I also hate liars & rude people so thereās that! ALEX, GET A NOTEPAD & PEN DUDE (only cost like $4)...TAKE NOTES SO YOU MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS (POTENTIAL) FEEL LIKE THEYāRE NOT JUST A NUMBER MAN & YOU CAN REMEMBER WHAT THEYāVE TOLD YOU SO YOU DONāT BASICALLY ACCUSE THEM OF BEING LIARS! Not good business IMO, I texted him & told I really wanted the Mustang but if it meant dealing with him anymore than weād pass! Weāll take out business elsewhere, where we are not accused of being liars or made to feel unworthy of a anything! Apparently, actually doing his job is too much work for poor Alex, he sounded so upset to have to look past the very first bank for approval! Good luck over there Alex, you sounded a bit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI test drove a couple of cars there and was helped by Kirk. I didn't purchase that day but left a message saying that Kirk had made my experience a good one. I was satisfied enough that I spoke with Kirk via text, about another car I wanted to check out listed @ $5500. After a few conversations I asked him what my out the door price would be. A couple of hours later he texted me $6781.72. I asked if he could send me a breakdown of those numbers and he told me yes. Then he proceeded to make excuses for two days as to why he couldn't send it yet, and "Hang Tight, I'm finishing a customers paperwork. That was the last thing he said to me regarding anything. That was also Saturday before 12:20pm. Bottom line is this.. When I asked for a breakdown his desire to sell me a car for cash on the spot vanished. It should have been easy considering he had just sent me a specific number ($6781.72) What, he didn't know how he got that number? Very unprofessional in my opinion. Not to mention the fact that they have to jump start the cars before you get there. That's why it's appointment only. I know because I added something else that I wanted to test drive while I was there and it took a bit for him to jump it off. I should have listened to my gut then. Luckily I didn't end up spending $6781.72 cash on a 2009 car with over 114k miles that kbb says is worth a little less than $4000. If someone can't tell you how they reached a cash out the door number for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible experience Iāll explain into detail. First off Alex is very rude and arrogant. David tried to sell me a car with 3 bad tires, when I asked why the light sensor was on he started getting hostile and saying ādo you know anything about tiresā. David got so frustrated he QUIT!! Alex then told me he wasnāt NOT going to sell me a car because he was mad David left while on the job! Very unprofessional! Then I reach out to Alex and explain to him what happened and he said he would handle it. He said he would fix the car 100% because the tires were bad, the windshield was crack, and the seat was torn. TWO weeks went by of me calling and being very polite and patient! He would put it off a few days, I would call on that day, and then heād put it off a few more days..giving me his WORD each time I speak to him that it will be done on whatever day..so by this point I have a reason to be upset, but I was still polite. He has poor communication, he flaunts how he has this āmulti-million dollarā business going but doesnāt conduct business in a professional manner. Miscommunication with other employees, this one says this that one says that⦠so finally I got fed up and called today 12/16, and Alex the OWNER tells me basically to jus wait as long as it takes, and hung up in my face!.. I do NOT feel like MY business was a priority, I do not feel like he handled any of this in a professional manner. DO NOT...
