My mother went to hospital Jan 22 this year. Aortic disection. It took almost a week to stabilize for the surgery. We had to ask for her to be cleaned, room cleaned, updated information etc. She had been stuck so many times for IV that boyh atms were now bruised. One arm the IV HAD SLIPPED OUT OF THE VAIN AND WAS LEAKING FLUID IN HER ARM. NO ONE SEEMED TO NOTICE AFTER IT's Swelling to over twice the size of the other arm. I complained thatbshe was still be asked to walk to urinate when she could have clots from the medicine leak in arm. I was dismissed and when they finally checked she of course did have a clot in arm and they had to her massive amounts of blood thinner right before surgery. Most staff was seem complacent with the day to day and no personable wa given. Surgeries seemed to be scheduled like an assembly line where all patients on the cardio floor was sent for Surgery same day one by one without pause. After my mother returned we were told good as new but we ended up staying another week due to complication still ongoing. She had fevers, complained of abdominal pain, back pain , nausea etc. We were told nothing could be found. She was discharged. Two days later she was fry heaving, convolsing, chills, could not hold food down. Upon seeing her PCP a week later her blood pressure had dropped 84/56. She immediately sent us back to hospital emergency room. We were told after ct scan in emergency aortic disection went all the way into the abdomen and it wasn't shown on charts from before surgury. Emergency doctor seemed very concerned with this, but said we would need to wait for the operating physician before anything could be done. She was moved to a room and we didn't see him for 3 days. Came in for 5-10 min, said it had nothing to do with surgury even though symptoms only started after surgery. He left. She spent another 3 days in room in pain still throwing up barely eating and again was discharged less than 48 hours of receiving morphine for pain and 24 hours of oxygen supplied. I don't claim to be an expert on anything concerning but this seemed again premature. After much trouble getting hospital records released to PCP. I scheduled another PCP visit and went 4 days later. She scheduled multiple outpatient visits to various docs to see if the could find solution the entire time at home she still had same symptoms. 1st outpatient doc was gastroenterologist. He saw the notes and immediately became concerned and said there she needed to be returned to hospital due only having the issues after surgery and visibly upset that she was discharged without proper care. We are now going back to emergency room. We'd heard the surgeon was very well known and did great work but this I feel is ridiculous all around for a hospital. What are we to do???? I'm disgusted; I thank those whom did show concern and care but there weren't many. Now we have to see them again and hope for better service, but I definitely can't trust that they will do the job right this time!!!!
Special thanks to Johannesburg, Marisa, Joy, Melinda, Lan, and a very cheeky buger from England I failed to know his...
Read moreWhen I got there, I could’ve sworn I was at a prison hospital the check in process looks horrible! Then when I got there, mind u i visited another Memorial Hermann the Tuesday b4 with just as equal horrible service but when I arrived here the nurse put a red tag on my arm that said “ allergic to morphine” I said I was never informed of that. She preceded to say “well that’s what they put on your chart at your visit on Tuesday!” My visit had nothing to do with morphine.. Mind u also if u have ANY PAIN, they give u a NARCO & put u in a room and let u sit, ignore u until at least that issue is resolved, but then she said “oh well they may have put the allergy on the wrong persons chart”… Umm excuse me?! So your just added the wrong information to people’s chart?! Then I was there from 6 pm to 3:30 am! And the only reason I left at that time was because I ASKED TO LEAVE! When u press the call button its point less! They either claim to not hear u or answer the call and immediately hang it up! I sat in that little room after getting an IV for at least 5 HOURS & no doctor came to at least introduce themselves or anything! I DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHO WOULD BE ADVISING ME UNTIL I ASKED THE NURSE DANIEL WHO AM I WAITING ON?! Since I’m connected to MyChart I was receiving emails about labs or test when they have been completed and/or when the results are ready, and yes I’m aware Doctors are not able to read them as soon as it’s done but I wait at least an hour or so and ask, & they keep playing with u saying “oh we’re waiting on results” so when I finally said I HAVE THE EMAIL WITH MY RESULTS, then he went and produced a doctor! I visited the ER due to previous CHF but also feeling heaviness in my chest with pain.. pain in my legs, when I asked to leave, the so called doctor (Nurse Practitioner Audrey comes in my room and tries to diagnose me with HEARTBURN!! Completely dismiss what I said I’m feeling! I asked about all the test I have taken, the response was oh they’re normal?! Ok so why am I feeling like this? What are some common reasons , nor did she ask if I was feeling better or try to see if any symptoms remained or changed! Just start talking about HEARTBURN! COMPLETELY THE WORSE INTERACTION I HAVE HAD AT A MEDICAL FACILITY! Also at release when Daniel removed the IV there are supposed to be a pressure adhesive applied on the vein to prevent bleeding, Daniel put a gauze & a huge bandaid.. I BLED OUT ALL THE WAY HOME! Didn’t even walk me out or at least escort u to the right way to exit!! I know night shift could be trying but THE BEDSIDE MANNOR AT THIS FACILITY IS COMPLETELY HORRIBLE! From adding the wrong information to my chart, to not being heard and/or ignored regarding symptoms, to me being misdiagnosed and the discharged bleeding thru my clothes, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND or return to BY CHOICE to A Memorial HERMANN...

i NEVER go to the doctor/hospital because every time i go, they can never diagnose me with anything so i tend not to go, so when i DO go, its because i'm genuinely worried about it, like this day.
i go to emergency because i was having chest pains on my left side that would not allow me to BREATHE and lasted more than 30 mins, i had someone drive me and take me to the emergency room where they were just worried about making sure they had my information on where they could charge me or reach me. like what??
THEN they took 2 ekgs, one machine didnt work so the assistant took me to another one that DID work and then rolled me to a WAITING area where i sat for God knows how long, until i was taken to a bed IN A HALLWAY, not a room, not anywhere private, but THE HALLWAY where they brought the machines to me to do x-rays, and scans that i didn't want but they INSISTED i needed, i was given MORPHINE when i asked NOT to be given it.
I was billed almost $15,000.00 for the whole 3 HOURS i was there. no Pain was alleviated, did NOT get a diagnosis, ALL staff was RUDE, and to top it off, when i get the bill (I had to fight to get an ITEMIZED bill) i see 2 CHARGES on the EKG (one had a machine that didnt work but STILL charged me) and some random charges that no one can tell me what they were and i'm just LIVID, my insurance thankfully paid in full for this but MEMORIAL HERMANN has be constantly harrasing me about a payment that doesn't exist. I reached out to customer service and received a non chalant response that i should reach out to my insurance provider because they didnt get paid ,
I ATTACHED PROOF OF FULL PAYMENT FROM MY INSURANCE PROVIDER AND THEY ARE STILL BOTHERING ME WITH ABSOLUTLY NOTHING BUT CONSTANT CALLS AND TEXT MESSAGES,
