Horrible customer service! I was referred to this store by my local store as I was looking for a specific item and my store said this was the only store in their district with any in stock and they didn't have it online to ship. My store verified via computer and called this store. I woke up at 5:00am on a Saturday to get there when they opened at 6:00am so I could get home and still have a full day to spend with my family. I found the items(s) I was looking for as well as a few other items I wanted. While checking out, the specific item I drove 50 minutes to buy, rang up as a "clearance item." And I was told I could not purchase it. The cashier called Frank, the store manager, and he said they couldn't sell it. He instructed her to tell me it's been recalled for "safety reasons." When I was informed of this I asked the cashier if she could show me the recall. She told me she was unable to. I told her that the store manager has given her false information as when Home Depot issues safety recalls, the computer displays a message that items are to be taken and destroyed. I asked if I may speak to the manager. She called him, turned her back and whispered something then turned around and handed me the phone. I informed him of his misinformation he gave his cashier and his immediate response was "I'm not selling it to you. Period." I called customer service and informed them of the managers position. They forwarded me to their "resolutions team." The gentleman I spoke with said that should not happen and he would call the store. He came back on the line and said another team member will come up to ring me up and let me purchase the item. After 30 or so minutes, I asked to speak with the manager again and once again, I was handed a phone, he told me that corporate has no control over what he does in HIS store and that he already informed me that he wasn't selling it to me.
This whole occurrence was spread over a period of TWO HOURS. During these two hours, another representative, Ms Pam; according to her apron, walked by several times mumbling what I believe to be, inappropriate, possibly racists comments towards me. (I didn't believe that was relevant until I read the other reviews of this store and saw others experiences). She also made a big scene and told several other employees to find a phone and call every store in town to check for this sku number and pull it from their shelves as well as to give the other stores a description of me and my apparel in the event I visited those stores looking for this item.
I also had several small conversations with two other employees that didn't understand why I couldn't buy the item. They informed me that they are usually instructed to use a "generic sku" to sell the item under but they were confused as to why I wasn't able to...
Read moreThis Home Depot posts that "no" dogs are allowed (except service dogs). I was here again today and what do I see "dogs"! Of which I had to wonder are these really all service dogs and more importantly "how" does Home Depot screen that they are?! I wouldn't even be giving this review if it wasn't for the very blatant and rude way the Assistant Store Manager (Chris) did not have time nor want to be bothered with my questio, because that's all I ask was the simple question of
Me: Hi, I was calling to speak whith Chris? Chris: This is Chris Me: oh great! Hi Chris just a question I thought HD didn't allow dogs in store? Chris: (in a raised irritated voice) ma'am I am not the store manager! He's here I will transfer you!
I tried to tell him that a customer with a mix pit bull is un store and reacted "aggressive" towards me simply because I startled a bit when I turned the corner in the paint isle this large black&brownish dog was right there. So yeah I startled a bit. This customer proceeded to (our of nowhere) agressively tell me that I over reacted that he would "NEVER!" bring a vicious dog in a store. Why he did that is beyond me because I never said a word, I simply startled a bit and that wasn't even anything, it was kinda like when you almost bump into someone (when not paying attention) and look up at the last second. Thats it! I didn't feed into this other customers needless rant at me, and at my back becuz I kept walking (even as he ranted) never saying a word. But after I checked out I thought "that guy was so very rude to me and I didn't do anything!" And decided to just let Home Depot know about this guy and his large Pitt bull looking dog, currently in the store because why would that guy use the word "vicious" to describe the dog, perhaps it's a behaved "Gaurd" dog which shouldn't be in store and NOT a "Service" dog.
But even that was useless, because not only get DISSED by the Home Depot Asst Manager Chris, in doing so he was also short and rude (for no reason) he clearly did not want to be bothered and quickly transferred me (he said) to the store manager but phone kept ringing&ringing, he even picked up again (never saying anything) he just put me back in the loop of ringing&ringing. I've been coming to this Home Depot for 15yrs the customer service and organization of the store keeps deteriorating each year. Now I know why.
I will never shop there again...and its not because...
Read moreI went into the 11500 Chimney Rock Rd, Houston, TX 77035 location to buy a couple of OSB sheet goods and came out upset and empty handed. First, I loaded my 2 sheets into a cart and asked an associate to call for assistance at the cutting center. I needed my 2 sheets cut in half. That's one cut across the middle on each sheet! I waited for 20 minutes and nobody showed up. Several employees passed by me during that time, but none of them were authorized to operate the saw. Finally after 20 minutes of waiting the first employee I asked for assistance passed by again and asked if I had been helped. He then kept walking, and 2 aisles over screamed to a guy "Hey, you got a guy waiting for you at the cutting center". Which the other guy responded "He can keep on waiting!" I couldn't see the guy from where I was at, but I clearly heard his response. I was only 2 aisles away and near to closing time. So, there was not much noise around there. So, by then I am upset. I start walking towards the aisle where he was at, and at that moment he turned the corner. He saw me and with a very rude attitude said "What do you want?". Very unprofessional response! I then told him I needed the 2 sheets of OSB cut. He responded, again in a rude way, "I can't cut those". And then started walking away. So, I asked him why he couldn't. He turned around with an annoyed face and said because they had cement in them. What?! Are you serious?! I told him that those were OSB sheets not hardi sheets. That there was no traces of concrete on them. That they were actually pieces of wood glued together. He them responded, "Well I can't cut that kind of material either. And I am the department manager so nobody else can cut them either" His name was Fredy. He just didn't want to cut anything for me and was making any kind of excuse. I've been going to Home Depot for over 20 years and I know that kind of material will get cut. I've had other people do it in that same store and other locations. By then 45 minutes had passed since I walked into the store and I just didn't want to spend another 20 or 30 minutes waiting and complaining to the store manager. So I walked out, upset and...
