Went to the Mad Dog Mayhem Derby tonight at the fair grounds, no hate to the fairgrounds itself but more of the lack of planning that went into the events safety. The whole south side of the track had no flag men and the gentleman in the tower doesn't seem to understand that in the midst of the MAYHEM the drivers can't hear him, and with the lack of flag men on the grand stands side of the track they can't always see the flags. We appreciated and enjoyed the show itself and the food but the rest was a bit of a shit show. They post that no minors under 12 are allowed in the pits and my party had a 3 year old and everyone purchased pit passes and her and her mom had to sit in the grandstands alone only to look across the track and see plenty of small children in the pit bleachers. They continuously brought up not hitting cars into the walls but this is a DERBY and a derby called MADDOG MAYHEM at that yet the minute there is actually any mayhem a red flag is called and everything stops even for the smallest things. I understand wanting the drivers, crew, and patrons to have a fun safe night but drivers shouldn't be punished during an event like this especially when so much is happening all at once and not everything leading up to the "punishable hit" may have been caught by the officials. That being said, we did enjoy the food and the show the DRIVERS put on just not so much the event staff or I should say lack of event staff and their understanding...

I recently attended the Wright County Fair, primarily to experience the demolition derby, and it was fantastic—truly a thrilling event, especially for a first-timer like me! The demolition derby was the highlight of my visit, and I would rate it a 10/10. I’ve already recommended it to my friends and family and would encourage anyone reading this to check it out.
The fair itself was a classic celebration with a great variety of attractions. From animal farms to rides and delicious fair food, there was something for everyone. The atmosphere was lively, and the range of activities provided plenty of entertainment.
There was a $10 fee for getting parking and admission to the fair. The demolition derby tickets are separate and can be purchased online for $12-$16! Buy ahead of time and they start the show at 5-5:30pm so be there before to enjoy the fair itself and the show.
However, I did notice that if you’re a bit different or don’t quite fit the typical fairgoer mold, you might attract some curious stares. Despite this, there were plenty of friendly faces and welcoming people around. Overall, it’s a fun event with a little room for improvement in...
Read moreWe had such a great experience at the fair this last week. We were there 3 different times. The season pass is a great value. We LOVED all of the things for kids to do. Lumberjack show, bmx show, kid coin scramble, baby animals and dojo karate was great with the kids. The only downside is that there is a huge lack of public drinking water. We were thankful for the booths that had water available. Ty to Morries Buffalo Ford and Wright county highway department...
