We purchased a door here to use for our new home build front door. While we are happy with our door, we are not happy with the service and experience in order to get the door.
We first came to the store and purchased a door in April, when construction on our home had not even started yet. We were told it would take 6-8 weeks for the door to be completed. After 8 weeks, we called to check on the status of our door, and we were informed that the standard time frame is actually 10-12 weeks. After 14 weeks, we were finally told that our door had orange paint on it that would not come off without changing the original look. (When we originally purchased, they said the orange paint wouldnât be a problem to get off.) So we picked a new door, that had to go through another 6 weeks until it was ready. At that time, our home build was ready for a door, but we didnât have one ready to put in. Also, we picked out hardware (recommended by them) the week after picking our second door. We found out weeks later that it wouldnât work. We picked out new hardware, and when it was time to pick up, found out they only ordered the knob, not the locking mechanism as well, like we discussed. Now we will purchase a locking mechanism on our own in order to not work with Preservation Co any more.
Overall, we were not pleased with the customer service and the lack of reliability. It was a difficult and stressful 6...
Read moreWould have rated this a 10 star, but only five are available. Owners have really outdone themselves! Worth a visit to see how classy this building is!
The store is very organized, easy to walk thru. You'll find architectural pieces, louvered doors, wooden doors, different sized windows, wrought iron "D" sized 'transoms', and transom windows. Saw large wrought iron gates/pieces, large large retractable maps, old (polished up, nicely) white sinks. Impressed by 2 huge, 10'- ish drawer pieces to be used as a dresser or foyer furniture piece, awesome coffee tables, galvanized pieces, hinges. We saw 3 floaters from an airplane, an airplane wing piece, stained glass, columns.
With the music set-up, this is an awesome place for businesses to host events. Also, for wedding receptions, birthday bashes, speaking...
Read moreI drove down from Tennessee to come visit this place because I have a 1961 home that I wanted to add a more period Correct field to. I was specifically looking for an exterior door.
The photos online showed quite a large selection so I was hopeful. But the vibe at this shop was more of a farmhouse chic, A lot of the doors that they have were really odd sizes which is great if that's what you're looking for but it's a lot of pre 1940s it seemed?
Would like I said is not a problem and the staff was super helpful but it was just kind of disappointing for me looking for like a pink pedestal sink, and a 36x78 door etc
If you're looking for some ways to add vintage touches to your home or your wedding specifically I think that this would be a...
